Performance of Hot-Mix Asphalt Containing Recycled Asphalt Pavement

Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, 2011
The purpose of this paper is to report the initial findings of an experimental program to design and assess the properties of recycled hot dense graded asphalt mixes. The mixes include Size 14-mm wearing course mix with and without recycled asphalt pavement (RAP). The RAP contents in the recycled mixes were 10%, 20%, and 30%.

Mechanistic and Volumetric Properties of Asphalt Mixtures with Recycled Asphalt Pavement

Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, 2005
This research examines how the addition of recycled asphalt pavement (RAP) changes the volumetric and mechanistic properties of asphalt mixtures. A Superpave ® 19-mm mixture containing 0% RAP was the control for evaluating properties of mixes containing 15%, 25%, and 40% RAP. Two types of RAP

Effects of higher percentage of recycled asphalt pavement on pavement performance

Road Materials and Pavement Design, 2013
The recycling of asphalt pavements has become a very routine procedure throughout the country. Research has shown that the recycled asphalt pavement (RAP) recovered from construction sites still contains usable materials, both in the recycled aggregates and recycled binder.

Mechanical Properties of Bio-Asphalt on Recycled Asphalt Pavement Binder

2020
Recycling asphalt technology is a technology that reuses of aged asphalt pavement that has been damaged and recycled as a new asphalt mixture material which in using it requires a modifier to restore the performance of aged asphalt. Bio-asphalt which is a fraction of bio-oil derived from biomass containing lignin has the potential as a modifier ...

Laboratory Performance of Asphalt Mixtures Containing Recycled Asphalt Shingles, Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement, and Recycling Agents

Journal of Materials in Civil Engineering, 2017
AbstractAs the price of liquid asphalt continuously climbs, methods are being sought to decrease material costs without compromising material or pavement performance while having a positive influence on sustainability. One potential method is the use of recycled materials, such as recycled asphalt shingles (RAS) and reclaimed asphalt pavements (RAP ...

Rheological behavior of cold recycled asphalt materials with different contents of recycled asphalt pavements

Innovative Infrastructure Solutions, 2017
In Quebec, for more than 20 years, cold in-place recycling (CIR) and full-depth reclamation (FDR) have been reliable rehabilitation techniques; restoring pavement condition at an affordable cost with a lower footprint on the environment. Experience reveals that CIR and FDR interventions effectively address the issues of reflective cracking and respect ...
