Concrete Reinforcement with Recycled Fibers

Journal of Materials in Civil Engineering, 2000
Fiber reinforcement can effectively improve the toughness, shrinkage, and durability characteristics of concrete. The use of recycled fibers from industrial or postconsumer waste offers additional advantages of waste reduction and resources conservation. This paper reviews some of the work on concrete reinforcement using recycled fibers, including tire

Recycling of Fiber-Metal Laminates

Advanced Materials Research, 2011
Fiber metal laminates provide superior mechanical properties over conventional metal alloys. However, they show a very poor recyclability due to its composite nature. Unique recycling technique is developed to recycle both the glass fiber and the aluminum alloy. The process consists of a thermal delamination and an alloy refining step.

Evaluating the impact of recycled fiber content on effluent recycling in newsprint manufacture

Chemosphere, 2013
This paper investigates the effect of using recycled fiber (RCF) in newsprint production on the effluent quality and its treatability using membrane operations for internal and external recycling and reuse. Increased chemical usage in RCF for deinking had significant impact on the silica and sodium content of the effluent which in turn limits the ...

Endoglucanase recycling for disintegrating cellulosic fibers to fibrils

Carbohydrate Polymers, 2019
Enzymatic pretreatment as an eco-friendly strategy has offered potential benefits in disintegrating cellulosic fibers into fibrils but limited by its high price. In this study, endoglucanase recycling was investigated in order to reduce endoglucanase expanses. Significant DP reduction can be achieved from 50.88% to 76.96% only by recycling liquid which

Synthetic Fiber Composite Recycling

Abstract Recycling of synthetic fiber composites—primarily fiberglass and carbon-fiber systems—is a growing priority as end-of-life materials accumulate across aerospace, automotive, and wind energy industries. This article surveys the three principal recycling approaches—mechanical, thermal, and chemical—with emphasis on carbon-fiber-
