Lycopene‐rich food biomolecules from tomato processing waste: Green recovery, biopolymer‐based stabilisation, functional food applications and health relevance

open access: yesFood Biomacromolecules, Volume 3, Issue 3, Page 646-663, September 2026.
Abstract Tomato processing waste, particularly peel and pomace, is a sustainable and low‐cost source of lycopene‐rich food biomolecules. Lycopene, a lipophilic carotenoid with an extended conjugated structure, provides intense red colour, antioxidant potential and functional value to tomato‐derived ingredients.

Reusable Lignin‐Derived Free‐Standing Carbon Nanofiber Sulfur Hosts via Carbonization Engineering for Sustainable Lithium–Sulfur Batteries

open access: yesGlobal Challenges, Volume 10, Issue 9, September 2026.
Lignin has been valorized into free‐standing sulfur cathodes via a sustainable electrospinning‐assisted nanofiber synthesis. The flexible electrode allows homogeneous sulfur distribution, promotes polysulfide confinement, and can be effectively reused in new coin cells.

An Effect of Preparation Temperature on the Structure and Reactivity of Supported Ni–Cu Bimetallic Nanoparticles in Benzyl Phenyl Ether Hydrogenolysis

open access: yesChemistryOpen, Volume 15, Issue 9, September 2026.
Ni is active in the hydrogenolysis reaction of interest, while Cu is inactive. However, catalysts containing bimetallic particles with fewer Ni atoms per particle are more active than bimetallic particles containing more Ni. The Ni loading in individual particles can be controlled by the preparation protocol.
