Abstract The most important use of rubber in tonnage amount is for tires and inner tubes. All tires of automobiles, trucks, buses, airplanes etc., are made from rubber due to its unique properties. Rubber is related to thermo-plastic-elastic materials and is turned to thermosetting on vulcanization during manufacturing of rubber products or tires. This

PROPERTIES OF POLYPROPYLENE/NATURAL RUBBER/RECYCLE RUBBER POWDER BLENDS
Polymer-Plastics Technology and Engineering, 2002Thermoplastic elastomers have been prepared by blending polypropylene (PP), natural rubber (NR), and recycle rubber powder (RRP). The blends were melt-mixed using a Brabender Plasticorder torque rheometer at 190°C and 50 rpm. A fixed 70:30 blend ratio (wt%) of PP and rubber was prepared.

Recycled Rubber in Cement Composites
MRS Proceedings, 1994AbstractDisposal of 200 million waste tires in the US each year has become a major problem. An environmentally sound innovative technology of recycling rubber in cement matrix was examined. Using silane coupling agent the rubber was bonded to the hydrating cement making a lighter composite, which absorbed more energy than ordinary Portland cement.
