Hazardous organic chemicals in rubber recycled tire playgrounds and pavers
Chemosphere, 2013In this study, the presence of hazardous organic chemicals in surfaces containing recycled rubber tires is investigated. Direct material analyses using solvent extraction, as well as SPME analysis of the vapour phase above the sample, were carried out. Twenty-one rubber mulch samples were collected from nine different playgrounds.

Tire-Rubber-Waste Recycling and Active Powder of Discretely Devulcanized Rubber
Polymer Science, Series D, 2018Key aspects of tire-rubber-waste collection, accumulation, processing, and further application have been examined. Special attention has been paid to application of ground tire rubber as a road-pavement modifier. The data on the structure and properties of tire-rubber powders obtained by different grinding techniques have been presented.

Magnesium Oxychloride Cement Concrete with Recycled Tire Rubber
Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, 1996Either portland cement or magnesium oxychloride cement was used as binders for concretes that incorporated fine rubber aggregate, ranging from 0 to 25 percent by volume. The concretes were tested for their compressive and split tensile strengths to determine whether the use of a magnesium oxychloride cement along with recycled tire rubbers would ...

EB-promoted recycling of waste tire rubber with polyolefins
Radiation Physics and Chemistry, 2012Abstract Despite the fact that more and more methods and solutions are used in the recycling of polymers, there are still some problems, especially in the recycling of cross-linked materials such as rubber. Usually the biggest problem is the lack of compatibility between the cross-linked rubber and the thermoplastic matrix.

Recycling Ground Tire Rubber Powder- A Review
Progress in Rubber, Plastics and Recycling TechnologyRecycling ground tire rubber (GTR) into usable products has attracted researchers and industry professionals, as it supports the sustainable use of end-of-life tires (ELTs). The environmental implications of tire disposal have driven the need for recycling methods, yet the global production of GTR-derived products remains relatively low.

Variability and Scale-Dependency of Recycled Rubber Tire Materials
Recycled Materials in Geotechnics, 2004This paper presents a variability study of several engineering properties of recycled rubber tire pieces based on a comprehensive literature survey of experimental test programs. The unit weight, cohesion, internal friction angle, Young's modulus of elasticity and Poisson's ratio were evaluated and compared to engineering property variability of ...

Recycling of Plastic and Rubber Tire Waste in Asphalt Pavements
MRS Proceedings, 1994AbstractThis paper discusses some important issues related to the use of recycled thermoplastics and rubber tire waste in asphalt binders for hot-mix pavements. Both high temperature rheological and low temperature fracture studies are presented on recycled polyethylene, devulcanized and crumb rubber-modified asphalt binders.

Toughening of polypropylene with recycled Tire-rubber
The immiscible blends of recycled tire rubber, ither reclaimied tire-rubber or ground rubber tire and homolypropylene had been investigated. TGA demonstrated that reclaimed tire-rubber was the miscible mixture of devulcanized natural rubber, styrene-butadiene rubber and butadiene rubber, wheres ground rubber tire was the mixture of vulcanized natural ...openaire +1 more source
CHAPTER 5. Recycling of Tire Rubbers and Their Re-usability
2018The recycling of rubber after its intended use continues to be an important subject from an ecological perspective. This chapter is concerned with waste tire rubber recycling and also discusses waste reduction and re-use. An extensive overview of tire production, post-consumer tire recycling, different types of de-vulcanization methods and reaction ...
