Chemically Fueled Systems Chemistry Across Length Scales

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Chemically fueled reaction cycles regulate processes through single and multiple catalytic sites on the molecular and assembly scale. This gives rise to unique kinetically controlled properties/functions like spatio‐temporal catalysis, oscillations, optical properties, and perform work.

Make‐Use‐Remake: Toward Indefinite Low‐Temperature Material Loops

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We introduce a regenerable materials platform built from microparticles bound by a temperature‐responsive polymer shell, enabling strong, processable structures from diverse feedstocks. The material is shaped at low temperatures (80°C) using common manufacturing methods and reprocessed repeatedly in the presence of water, demonstrating stable ...

Research on the synthesis of lithium iron phosphate using vivianite prepared from municipal sludge

open access: yesScientific Reports
Sewage treatment facilities are widespread in cities throughout China, and municipal sludge, a byproduct of wastewater treatment, often leads to resource waste and secondary pollution.

Solution‐Processed Mn‐Doped 2d Perovskite Wavelength Shifters for Noble‐Liquid Photon Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Solution‐processed Mn2+‐doped PEA2PbBr4 two‐dimensional perovskite films are demonstrated as large‐area wavelength shifters for noble‐liquid photon detectors. Mn2+ incorporation introduces a broad emission band at ∼620 nm with a large Stokes shift, suppressing self‐absorption and matching SiPM sensitivity.

Insights into Real Lignin Refining: Impacts of Multiple Ether Bonds on the Cracking of β-O-4 Linkages and Selectivity of Products

open access: yesMolecules
Depolymerizing lignin to produce high-value chemicals has garnered increasing attention. Given the complex structure of real lignin, the cracking efficiency of β-O-4 linkages and the selectivity of depolymerization products are significantly lower than ...

Leaftronics: Bio‐Fractal Scaffolds From Leaf Venation for Low‐Waste Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
“Leaftronics” transforms naturally evolved leaf venation into quasi‐fractal scaffolds for sustainable electronics. Polymer‐infiltrated leaf skeletons can be used to fabricate ultra‐smooth, reflow‐ and thin‐film‐compatible decomposable substrates, while making the same lignocellulose networks conducting results in flexible transparent electrodes.

Environmentally persistent microbial contamination in agricultural soils: High risk of pathogenicity and antibiotic resistance

open access: yesEnvironment International
Persistent microbial contamination commonly occurs in the environment. However, the characteristics and associated risks remain largely unknown. The coexistence of virulence factor genes (VFGs) and “last-resort” antibiotic resistance genes (LARGs) on ...
