In Situ Thermal Decomposition of Exfoliated Two-Dimensional Black Phosphorus
With a semiconducting band gap and high charge carrier mobility, two-dimensional (2D) black phosphorus (BP), often referred to as phosphorene, holds significant promise for next generation electronics and optoelectronics.

Abstract Sentinel-2 is planned for launch in 2014 by the European Space Agency and it is equipped with the Multi Spectral Instrument (MSI), which will provide images with high spatial, spectral and temporal resolution. It covers the VNIR/SWIR spectral region in 13 bands and incorporates two new spectral bands in the red-edge region, which can be used

EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

The Optical Counterpart of NGC 1313 X-1
We identify the optical counterpart of the ultraluminous X-ray source (ULX) NGC 1313 X-1 and discuss constraints on its physical nature from multiband optical spectra.

The cosmological origin of the Tully-Fisher relation [PDF]
We use high-resolution cosmological simulations that include the effects of gasdynamics and star formation to investigate the origin of the Tully-Fisher relation in the standard Cold Dark Matter cosmogony.

RNA profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles (EVs) from blood samples of men undergoing prostate biopsy identifies transcripts associated with clinically significant prostate cancer. Integrative analysis with public tumor datasets links EV‐derived gene signatures to tumor stage and progression‐free survival, highlighting CASP3, XRCC2, and RIT1 ...

Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...

Determining improvements in Landsat spectral sampling for inland water quality monitoring
Inland waters are optically complex and provide an ongoing challenge to effective water quality monitoring through remote sensing. Imaging satellites with spectral sampling designed for this task often have coarse spatial resolutions, preventing any ...

An operational solution to acquire multispectral images with standard light cameras : Characterization and acquisition guidelines [PDF]
In order to develop a low-cost and easy to implement technical solution to map inside-field spatial variability, and to explore its relationship with crop conditions, several experiments were conducted using ultra-light aircraft and Unmanned Aerial ...

Direct and Simultaneous Observation of Ultrafast Electron and Hole Dynamics in Germanium [PDF]
Understanding excited carrier dynamics in semiconductors is crucial for the development of photovoltaics and efficient photonic devices. However, overlapping spectral features in optical/NIR pump-probe spectroscopy often render assignments of separate ...
