L‐aspartate oxidase provides new insights into fumarate reduction in anaerobic darkness in Synechocystis sp. PCC6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Synechocystis strains deficient in succinate dehydrogenase (SDH) secrete more succinate than the WT under dark anaerobic conditions, supporting that SDH then primarily acts as SDH, not as a fumarate reductase. L‐aspartate oxidase (Laspo) from Synechocystis is functional under anaerobic conditions, reducing fumarate to succinate.

Comparing Different Methods of Calculating Red-Edge and Blue-Edge Inflection Position from Hyperspectral Data to Early Detect Tree Disease

open access: yes
Pine wilt disease (PWD) is a destructive pine disease with a fast onset rate, high mortality rate, and high difficulty in prevention and control. Accurate and efficient monitoring is the foundation of disease prevention and control.

Triple Cascaded Spectral Attention U-ResNet for UAV RGB-to-multispectral reconstruction in cocoa agroforestry

open access: yesJournal of Agriculture and Food Research
High-resolution multispectral imaging systems for vegetation monitoring remain costly for many smallholder farmers. Most existing deep learning approaches attempt to infer multispectral information from RGB inputs.

The heterodimeric amino acid transporters (HAT) of the SLC7/SLC3 family: A structure−function relationships and relevance to human pathology

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Heterodimeric amino acid transporters consist of SLC7 and SLC3 family proteins arranged in a conserved structural organization. They regulate nutrient transport across cell membranes, supporting essential cellular functions. These transporters also contribute to xenobiotic/drug uptake and distribution.

Leucine‐rich glioma inactivated 1 (LGI1) is a ganglioside‐binding protein

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neuronal hyperexcitability associated with a decrease/absence of the extracellular protein LGI1 has been suggested to be primarily due to the downregulation of Kv1 channel expression. The molecular mechanisms underlying this decrease have not yet been elucidated.

Estimating foliar nitrogen in Eucalyptus using vegetation indexes

open access: yesScientia Agricola
Nitrogen (N) has commonly been applied in Eucalyptus stands in Brazil and it has a direct relation with biomass production and chlorophyll content. Foliar N concentrations are used to diagnose soil and plant fertility levels and to develop N fertilizer ...

Smaller is better: nanobodies meet NMR

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nanobodies are single‐domain antigen‐binding fragments derived from camelid heavy chain antibodies. Their small size, high stability, and exceptional specificity make nanobodies uniquely useful probes for NMR studies of protein dynamics, transient conformational states, and protein–protein interactions.

Position-dependent entropy.

open access: yes, 2018
Moving average position information entropy was calculated with a window size of 11 for HA1 protein if influenza A virus in each period, that is period 2 (black), period 3 (yellow), period 4 (red), period 5 (green) and period 6 (blue).

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.
