Genomic evidence suggests that sex chromosomes may not be conserved within liverworts. Re‐evolution of dioicy in the genus Riccia may have occurred with probable de novo establishment of a new sex chromosome from the autosome, and the m‐chromosomes have evolved independently from chromosomes in the Marchantiales.

Palaeobiology and osteohistology of South African sauropodomorph dinosaurs
We found that the transitionary Sauropodiformes show both the traits of rapid growth of derived Sauropoda as well as interrupted growth of early branching Sauropodomorpha. There appears to be much more variation in growth dynamics of Sauropodiformes than initially thought.

What is (the) matter with climate litigation? Law, nature, and the limits of legal technique
Abstract This article examines how nature is mediated by law in climate cases. In the Federal Court of Australia decision in Minister for the Environment v. Sharma (2022), the court applied a narrow definition of ‘matter of law’ (justiciability), and thereby negated ‘matter in law’ (such as carbon dioxide and ecological destruction).

A historical review of giant kelp harvesting in Tasmania
Abstract Kelps have a long history of human use and exploitation. Knowledge of past harvesting practices offers insights into environmental baselines and the contemporary management and conservation of these critically important ecosystems. In Tasmania, Australia, giant kelp (Macrocystis pyrifera) was commercially harvested for alginate production from
