Laboratory production of apothecia of Sclerotinia trifoliorum Eriks for the evaluation of red clover resistance to crown rot.

open access: yes, 1983
Laboratory production of apothecia of S. trifoliorum could be obtained regularly and in sufficient quantities for artificial inoculation of red clover. Sclerotia were produced on one month old cultures grown on PDA (100 Petri dishes give some 10.000 sclerotia). They were desiccated 1 month at laboratory temperature, then frozen for 24 h at - 18°C. Red clover and alfalfa crown rot caused by Sclerotinia trifoliorum Eriks. I - Choice of an inoculation method

open access: yes, 1981
