Exploitation of the red-edge bands of Sentinel 2 to improve the estimation of durum wheat yield in Grombalia region (Northeastern Tunisia)

, 2020
Worldwide, cereals are of great interest for national food security. The recently released free Sentinel 2 imagery is promising for cereal production systems management, both at field and regional scale.

Red edge point detection for mulberry leaf

2017 1st International Conference on Intelligent Systems and Information Management (ICISIM), 2017
Red Edge point (R E P) is very much related with chlorophyll foliar concentration and contents. Deep absorption of chlorophyll a and chlorophyll b affects the sudden change in region starting from 680 nm to 800 nm of green vegetation reflectance spectrum. Greenness area of the observation can be recognized by Red Edge Point.

On the Red Edge of the δ Scuti Instability Strip

Chinese Journal of Astronomy and Astrophysics, 2002
The delta Scuti star catalogue is used to derive the observational locations of such stars on the HR diagram. The theoretical and observational instability strips are compared to check the theoretical red edge obtained by considering non-local time-dependent convection theory. The observational instability strip almost overlaps with the theoretical one,

Giant red shift of the absorption edge in La0.9Sr0.1MnO3

Journal of Experimental and Theoretical Physics Letters, 1999
The absorption edge of the perovskite La0.9Sr0.1MnO3, determined using the diffuse reflection coefficient spectra, shifts by the giant amount 0.4 eV in the direction of lower energies as the temperature decreases from the Curie point (155 K) to 141 K.

Comparative analysis of red-edge hyperspectral indices

Advances in Space Research, 2003
Using 3 nm bandwidth observations over the growth cycle of wheat in 680–820 nm range, the point of inflection was identified through differentiation and it was at 729 nm corresponding to peak observed at 64 days after sowing (DAS). To provide physical basis for various red edge hyperspectral indices reported in literature, the ratio indices (RI ...

Shape of the red edge as vitality indicator for plants

International Journal of Remote Sensing, 1990
Abstract The shift of the red edge in the reflection spectra of vegetation targets is a known phenomenon documenting changes in the biological status of plants. In our study we analysed the variability of red edge reflection in dependency of differently managed field plots, The results indicate that the red edge is not fully described by the shift of ...

Evaluating the utilization of the red edge and radar bands from sentinel sensors for wetland classification

CATENA, 2019
As one of the most important ecosystems, wetlands are threatened from both natural and anthropogenic activities. Mapping wetland is one of the curtail needs in order to prevent further loss. Since the beginning of the Remote Sensing revolution, different

The effect of a red leaf pigment on the relationship between red edge and chlorophyll concentration

Remote Sensing of Environment, 1991
The effect of a leaf pigment - red amaranthin - on red edge and chlorophyll concentration is investigated in amaranth leaves by means of treatments with nitrate and salts. A near-linear relationship between red edge and chlorophyll concentration is observed for leaves with low amaranthin concentration, and no relationship is noted at high ...

A Liquid Crystal Tunable Filter-Based Hyperspectral LiDAR System and Its Application on Vegetation Red Edge Detection

IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Letters, 2019
In this letter, a hyperspectral light detection and ranging (HSL) with 10-nm spectral resolution was designed and tested using a supercontinuum laser source.
