Canopy Chlorophyll Content Inversion of Mountainous Heterogeneous Grasslands Based on the Synergy of Ground Hyperspectral and Sentinel-2 Data: A New Vegetation Index Approach

open access: yesRemote Sensing
Canopy chlorophyll content (CCC) is a key indicator for assessing the carbon sequestration capacity and material cycling efficiency of ecosystems, and its accurate retrieval holds significant importance for analyzing ecosystem functioning.

Evaluation of Sentinel-2 vegetation indices for prediction of LAI, fAPAR and fCover of winter wheat in Bulgaria

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Remote Sensing, 2021
The red-edge bands of Sentinel-2 allow for a greater diversity of spectral Vegetation Indices (VIs) to be calculated and used for vegetation characterization.

Estimating mangrove leaf area index based on red-edge vegetation indices: A comparison among UAV, WorldView-2 and Sentinel-2 imagery

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Earth Observations and Geoinformation, 2021
Accurate estimation of mangrove leaf area index (LAI) is fundamental for effective mangrove ecosystem management and protection. Remote sensing technology has showed its powerful potential in accurately retrieving mangrove LAI.

Peripheral lysosomes recruit PLEKHG3 to focal adhesions and restrain protrusion dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Proximity‐dependent labeling at the LAMTOR complex revealed the Rho GEF PLEKHG3 as a lysosome‐proximal protein directing the study toward the influence of lysosome positioning on actin dynamics and cell motility. We show that PLEKHG3 colocalizes with lysosomes at focal adhesion sites and observe that forced peripheral dispersion of lysosomes hinders ...

Analysis of Resampling Methods for the Red Edge Band of MSI/Sentinel-2A for Coffee Cultivation Monitoring

open access: yesGeomatics
Spectral indices such as NDRE (Normalized Difference Red Edge Index), CCCI (Canopy Chlorophyll Content Index), and IRECI (Inverted Red Edge Chlorophyll Index), derived from the Red Edge band of MSI/Sentinel-2A (B05, B06, B07), are critical for coffee ...

Golgi enzymes are retrieved from the plasma membrane to the trans‐Golgi network

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Golgi enzymes are traditionally considered resident proteins retained within the Golgi apparatus. Here, we demonstrate that a subset transiently reaches the cell surface and is subsequently retrieved to the trans‐Golgi network via retrograde transport. Using a nanobody‐based toolkit, we uncover a dynamic trafficking cycle of several Golgi enzymes.

Wavelength-tuneable liquid crystal lasers from the visible to the near-infrared [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The study of band-edge lasing from dye-doped chiral nematic liquid crystals has thus far been largely restricted to visible wavelengths. In this paper, a wide range of commercially available laser dyes are examined for their suitability as infrared ...

Estimation and Validation of RapidEye-Based Time-Series of Leaf Area Index for Winter Wheat in the Rur Catchment (Germany)

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2015
Leaf Area Index (LAI) is an important variable for numerous processes in various disciplines of bio- and geosciences. In situ measurements are the most accurate source of LAI among the LAI measuring methods, but the in situ measurements have the ...

Ligand‐dependent transcriptional heterogeneity in cell cycle gene expression delays G1/S entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
EGF and HRG induce distinct G1/S progression programs in ErbB2‐amplified BT474 breast cancer cells. Despite activating the potent ErbB2–ErbB3 heterodimer, HRG does not accelerate cell‐cycle entry. Instead, EGF promotes earlier restriction‐point passage via ERK–FOS signaling, whereas HRG activates the AKT–MYC axis, driving transcriptional heterogeneity ...

Comparative Analysis of 5-band and 10-band Multispectral Drone Imagery for Salt Marsh Vegetation Mapping [PDF]

open access: yesISPRS Annals of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences
Multispectral drone sensors enable fine-scale ecological mapping, but added bands can inflate processing costs. We evaluated the MicaSense RedEdge-MX Red and Blue cameras (5 bands each) versus the Dual Camera System (10 bands) for vegetation mapping in ...
