Technical note: a new technique for interpolating the reflectance red edge position
. The point of maximum slope on the re¯ectance spectrum of vegetation between red and near-infrared wavelengths, termed the red edge position (REP), is correlated strongly with foliar chlorophyll content and provides a very sensitive indicator of, among ...

Grass Chlorophyll and the Reflectance Red Edge
The point of maximum slope in the reflectance spectra of leaves occurs around 690-740nm and is termed the 'red edge'. Strong correlations have been found between the red edge of leaves and the chlorophyll concentration of those leaves.

Breast cancer remains a major cause of cancer death in women, frequently developing endocrine therapy resistance. This study demonstrates that upregulated p21‐activated kinase 1 (PAK1) activity drives resistance to tamoxifen and long‐term estrogen deprivation in ER+ breast cancer models.

Matched spatial transcriptomics and single‐nuclei RNA‐seq were generated for anaplastic and BRAFV600E papillary thyroid cancers revealing generic and tumor‐specific states occurring in cancer cells and in the tumor microenvironment. In this context, cancer dedifferentiation mirrored organoid maturation through ordered thyroid marker gain/loss ...

CEACAM1 participation in breast cancer progression
In invasive breast cancer (BC), CEACAM1 shifts from an apical to a uniform membranous/cytoplasmic pattern, or is lost, as tumors dedifferentiate, inversely tracking the Ki‐67 proliferative index. In MCF‐7 cells, only CEACAM1‐4L suppresses proliferation, repressing cell cycle and growth factor genes.

Oral History Interview with Jack Edge
The National Museum of the Pacific War presents a monologue with Jack Edge. Edge joined the Navy in 1941. He served aboard the USS Pelias (AS-14). They were conducting submarine overhauls at the Submarine Base where the ship was berthed during the ...

Pharmacological chromatin remodeling enhances response to estrogen therapy in ER+ breast cancer
Estrogen therapy elicits clinical benefit in ~ 30% of patients with endocrine‐resistant estrogen receptor (ER)‐positive breast cancer. Based on findings that ER transcriptional activation underlies response to estrogen therapy, we tested the effects of epigenetic dysregulation via pharmacological inhibition of histone deacetylases (HDACi).

PANoptosis in the pathogenesis of myelodysplastic syndromes
PANoptosis, a combination of three types of programmed cell death, is mediated by a large protein complex called a PANoptosome. In healthy bone marrow hematopoietic cells, PANoptosis is restricted by inhibitory signaling. In MDS, bone marrow cells become sensitive to the PANoptotic stimuli due to the aberrant inactivation of inhibitory signaling or ...

We investigate the exotic emission behaviors of gadolinium gallium garnet (Gd3Ga5O12, GGG) wafer via X-ray absorption near edge structure (XANES) and X-ray excited optical luminescence (XEOL) in an X-ray nanoprobe beamline. The XANES spectra of the Gd L3
