Metallicity of Globular Cluster M13 from VI CCD Photometry [PDF]
From the VI images of M13, obtained by using 2K CCD camera and the BOAO 1.8m telescope, we derive the (V-I)-V CMD of M13. From the shapes of red giant branch, the magnitude of horizontal branch, and the giant branch bump on the constructed CMD, we ...

Multiple stellar populations in the Galactic globular cluster NGC 6752
We have carried out high-precision photometry on a large number of archival HST images of the Galactic globular cluster NGC 6752, to search for signs of multiple stellar populations. We find a broadened main sequence, and demonstrate that this broadening

HST observations of the cometary blue compact dwarf galaxy UGC 4483: a relatively young galaxy? [PDF]
We present V and I photometry of the resolved stars in the cometary blue compact dwarf galaxy UGC 4483 using Hubble Space Telescope Wide Field Planetary Camera 2 (WFPC2) images. The resulting I vs.

Optical Control of the Thermal Conductivity in BaTiO3
Light‐driven manipulation of thermal conductivity in archetypal ferroelectric, BaTiO3, offers a novel and effective approach for the dynamical control of the heat flux, with potential applications in thermal management and phonon‐based logic. Abstract Achieving dynamic control over thermal conductivity remains a formidable challenge in condensed matter

Low‐Loss Far‐Infrared Surface Phonon Polaritons in Suspended SrTiO3 Nanomembranes
The low‐loss, highly confined, and thickness‐tunable surface phonon polaritons are demonstrated in the far‐infrared regime within transferable freestanding SrTiO3 membranes, achieving high figures of merit comparable to the previous record values from the vdW materials.

The Super Lithium-Rich Red Giant Rapid Rotator G0928+73.2600: A Case for Planet Accretion?
We present the discovery of a super lithium-rich K giant star, G0928+73.2600. This red giant (T_eff = 4885 K and log g = 2.65) is a fast rotator with a projected rotational velocity of 8.4 km/s and an unusually high lithium abundance of A(Li) = 3.30 dex.

Iridium Oxide Inverse Opal Anodes with Tailored Porosity for Efficient PEM Electrolysis
The synthesis of Iridium‐based Inverse Opals (Ir‐IO) is reported as electrocatalyst for Proton exchange membrane water electrolysis (PEM‐WE). Using the developed protocol it produces highly porous materials consisting either of metallic, oxidic Iridium or a combination thereof with large surface areas.

Pulsating red giant stars in eccentric binary systems discovered fromKeplerspace based photometry
Context. The unparalleled photometric data obtained by NASA’s Kepler Space Telescope has led to improved understanding of red giant stars and binary stars. Seismology allows us to constrain the properties of red giants. In addition to eclipsing binaries,
