Energy liberation in red giant stars
Physica, 1943Summary The theory of Gamow and Teller about the energy liberation in red giants is criticized. It is shown, that the rate of evolution predicted by this theory is in contradiction with the secular variations in the periods of Cepheids. The reverse conclusions, at which Greenfield arrived, are shown to be erroneous.
