We report a polymer‐chain insertion strategy to fabricate pore‐threaded MOF thin films with precisely tuned surface chemistry and wettability. Grafting n‐alkane chains into the pillared layer Cu2(bdc)2(dabco) MOF thin film's vertical nanochannels enhances water stability, and induces hydrophobicity and lubricant‐free, solid‐like slippery behavior ...

Absorption of CO2 in a bubble column using red mud
In the industrial production of aluminum through the Bayer process, two main pollutants are generated, red mud and carbon dioxide (CO2). Conventional processes for treating polluting waste include the neutralization of red mud with hydrochloric acid (HCl)

Preparation and hydration mechanism of low concentration Bayer red mud filling materials
Red mud is a solid waste produced in the process of bauxite refining alumina, with high alkali content, and its treatment methods are mainly stacking and ocean dumping, which not only occupy a large amount of cultivated land and pollute land and water ...

Isospin Effects by Mass Reweighting
Most of today's lattice simulations are performed in the isospin symmetric limit of the light quark sector. Mass reweighting is a technique to include effects of isospin breaking in the sea quarks at moderate numerical cost. We will give a summary of our

A comparison of enhancement techniques for footwear impressions on dark and patterned fabrics [PDF]
The use of chemical enhancement techniques on porous substrates, such as fabrics, poses several challenges predominantly due to the occurrence of background staining and diffusion as well as visualisation difficulties.

Triblock Polymer Engineering Enables Hydration‐Rich, High‐Performance, Fouling‐Resistant Interfaces
A molecularly engineered triblock polymer (PHZ) rapidly reorganizes into a hydration‐rich interfacial layer on diverse surfaces, strongly suppressing hydrophobic attraction and fouling. The triblock polymer provides robust energy and steric barriers to oily foulants, enabling high‐performance antifouling at ultralow dosage.

Gypsum-Enhanced Red Mud Composites: A Study on Strength, Durability, and Leaching Characteristics
The strong alkalinity of red mud and the heavy metals it contains pose a serious threat to the environment. This study investigated the possibility of applying red mud as a solid waste material in road construction to mitigate the problem of red mud ...
