The Germinal Development in the Daughter Rediae of an Ophthalmo-Xiphidiocercaria from Pomatiopsis lapidaria

The Journal of Parasitology, 1950
ALLOCREADIIDAE. In fact, recent work indicates that this family should include only species with ophthalmo-xiphidiocercariae (Hopkins, 1934; Cable and Hunninen, 1942). The structure of cercariae of this type, especially the presence of a stylet and stylet glands, suggests that this family is related to the PLAGIORCHIOIDEA.

Muscle system in rediae and daughter sporocysts of several digeneans

Zoomorphology, 2016
Morphological studies on digenetic trematodes are quite numerous, but the large majority of researchers deal with the hermaphroditic generation (cercariae, metacercariae, adults). Parthenitae (miracidia, sporocysts, rediae), although they constitute a significant part of a digeneans’ life cycle, attract much less attention.

Himasthla quissetensis: Uptake and utilization of glucose by rediae as determined by autoradiography and respirometry

Experimental Parasitology, 1974
Abstract Daughter rediae of Himasthla quissetensis removed from the digestive gland of Nassarius obsoletus were placed in sterilized seawater fortified with antibiotics. When [ 3 H]-glucose was added to this medium and autoradiographs were made after 3, 9, and 24 hr of exposure, labeling was observed associated with the redial walls and ...

Studies on Germinal Development in Rediae of the Trematode Order Fasciolatoidea Szidat, 1936

The Journal of Parasitology, 1948
In a program of investigations on the embryology of the digenetic trematodes which has been carried on for several years at the University of Michigan Biological Station, studies have been made of representatives of the strigeids (Cort and Olivier, 1941), the plagiorchiids (Cort and Olivier, 1943a; Cort and Ameel, 1944), and the schistostomes (Cort and

Neutral lipids in cercariae, encysted metacercariae, and rediae of Echinostoma caproni

Journal of Helminthology, 2000
Abstract High performance thin-layer chromatography (HPTLC) was used to analyse the neutral lipids in the rediae, cercariae, and encysted metacercariae of Echinostoma caproni from Biomphalaria glabrata snails.

Dehydrogenase activity in the rediae of Himasthla quissetensis (Trematoda) as an indicator of substrate utilization

Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology Part B: Comparative Biochemistry, 1973
Abstract 1. 1. The levels of dehydrogenase activity in specimens of daugther redise of Himasthla quissetensis removed from the digestive gland of Nassarius obsoletus were determined by employing the methylene blue reduction method. These measurements were made on rediae suspended in a sterile, sea-water medium or in media in which sodium ...

[Germinal mass of the rediae of Trematoda].

Parazitologiia, 2012
Dynamic of the reproduction of the trematodes Notocotylus imbricatus (Notocotylidae), Echinostoma caproni (Echinostomatidae), Sphaeridiotrema globulus and Psilotrema tuberculata (Psilostomatidae) parthenites was observed. The formation of generative cells takes place only as a result of undifferentiated cells proliferation and following differentiation.

On a new Telorchis sp. with a redia inside the miracidium.

Angewandte Parasitologie, 1981
Adult and miracidium of Telorchis lucknowensis n. sp. from the intestine of Kachuga kachuga in India have been described. The new species is characterised by length of oesophagus, ratio of cirrus sac and metraterm, position of ovary, extension of vitellaria, and the unusual size of eggs containing a miracidium with a well developed redia.

Histochemical Studies on the Rediae and Cercariae of Echinoparyphium recurvatum Linstow

Nature, 1966
ALTHOUGH information is available on the effects of trematode larvae on the gonads and digestive diverticulum of their molluscan hosts1–3, surprisingly little is known regarding the feeding and enzyme systems of larval trematodes.
