Thermal‐Stable and High‐Performance Organic Nonlinear Optical Chromophores for Advanced Electro‐Optic Modulators

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
To address the challenge of high electro‐optic (EO) activity and thermal stability, four chromophores (BHG1–BHG4) are designed. These incorporate steric hindrance groups into the aniline donor, significantly raising their glass transition temperatures and enhancing alignment stability. The neat BHG2 film achieves an exceptional EO coefficient of 304 pm

Hydroxylated Rh Single‐Atom Antennas Assembled on Carbon Nitride Toward Stable Photocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
PCN‐Rh single‐atom catalyst shows a dual‐cycle reaction path for photocatalytic hydrogen evolution (PHE). PCN‐Rh‐0.5 achieves 32.5 times the PHE rate of PCN/Pt, which exhibits a longer operation time (192 h) with a higher amount of hydrogen production (654.5 mmol g−1) than the reported PCN‐based single‐atom catalysts and other high‐stability catalysts ...

Structure‐Function Integration in 2D Hybrid Perovskite for Fast Neutron and Gamma Ray Discrimination

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Using an in situ seed‐assisted cooling method, large (28 × 7 × 3 mm3) (GABA)2PbBr4 single crystals are grown, featuring hydrogen‐rich organic layers and a dense PbBr4 framework. This architecture enables efficient γ‐ray absorption, fast‐neutron sensitivity, and clear n/γ pulse‐shape discrimination (FOM up to 1.74), highlighting its potential as a ...

Room‐Temperature Alane Dehydrogenation for Visible‐Light‐Driven Photocatalytic Hydrogen Supply System

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In situ formed Al/MOF enables viable visible‐light‐driven photocatalytic dehydrogenation of alane (AlH3) confirming practical application. Results demonstrate that Al nanoparticles prolong lifetime of photogenerated charge carriers via localized surface plasmon resonance induced hot electron injection, while AlH3 chemisorption triggers interfacial ...

Cross‐Platform Biosensing of Immune Receptors Using Peptide‐Functionalized Graphene

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A peptide‐functionalized graphene biosensor enables sensitive and selective detection of living immune cells. Targeting Formyl‐Peptide Receptor 2 (FPR2), the assay is demonstrated on model cells and primary human neutrophils. The same assay is applied to two complementary platforms: graphene‐enhanced surface plasmon resonance for optical benchmarking ...

Critical Limitations in Cryogenic Laser Cooling of Solids: Symmetry‐Related Fluorescence Trapping and Condensation‐Induced Parasitic Heating

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study uncovers two overlooked bottlenecks in cryogenic laser cooling of solids: symmetry‐driven fluorescence trapping and water vapor condensation. We demonstrate that breaking sample symmetry enhances fluorescence escape, while condensation dominates parasitic heating below 135 K.
