Origin of Ultraviolet‐Induced High‐Temperature Photovoltaic Response at Pt/Gd‐Doped CeO2 Interface
Oxygen uptake induced by UV irradiation generates an oxygen chemical potential gradient across acceptor‐doped ceria at high temperatures. Besides the photovoltage caused by band bending at the heterojunction interface, the observed voltage can also be attributed to the Nernst voltage arising from the oxygen potential gradient.

Advanced Emissivity Tuning Via Femtosecond Laser Surface Engineering
Femtosecond laser surface processing (FLSP) is employed to fabricate titanium‐based metamaterials with engineered micro/nano‐scale features that exhibit spectrally selective and omnidirectional thermal emissivity. By integrating advanced ellipsometry, electromagnetic modeling, and compositional analysis, the work reveals resonance‐driven emissivity ...

Room‐Temperature Surface Exciton Polaritons in Colloidal J‐Aggregate Flakes
Colloidal J‐aggregate flakes, synthesized via electrostatic assembly of cyanine molecules and a polyelectrolyte, exhibit robust excitonic properties and support surface exciton polaritons at room temperature. Their strong scattering and tunable optical response introduce a versatile, solution‐processable platform for advanced photonic and quantum ...

Directional Light Scattering In Mie‐Resonant Si Particles With Ultra‐Thin Au Shells
Si@Au core‐shell particles have been produced to study their ability to directionally scatter light. We found that the heavily reported particulate shells do not overlap the electric and magnetic dipoles well, where continuous shells have better overlap. Experimental analyses, including nanomaterial characterization, EELS and single‐particle dark‐field
