The Complete Calibration of the Color–Redshift Relation (C3R2) Survey: Survey Overview and Data Release 1 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
A key goal of the Stage IV dark energy experiments Euclid, LSST, and WFIRST is to measure the growth of structure with cosmic time from weak lensing analysis over large regions of the sky. Weak lensing cosmology will be challenging: in addition to highly

Modulating Two‐Photon Absorption in a Pyrene‐Based MOF Series: An In‐Depth Investigation of Structure–Property Relationships

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates H4TBAPy‐based metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) ‐ NU‐1000, NU‐901, SrTBAPy, and BaTBAPy ‐ for multiphoton absorption (MPA) performance. It observes topology‐dependent variations in the 2PA cross‐section, with BaTBAPy exhibiting the highest activity.

Machine Learning–based Search of High-redshift Quasars

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Supplement Series
We present a machine learning search for high-redshift (5.0 < z < 6.5) quasars using the combined photometric data from the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI) Imaging Legacy Surveys and the Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer survey.

Bayesian inference from photometric redshift surveys [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We show how to enhance the redshift accuracy of surveys consisting of tracers with highly uncertain positions along the line of sight. Photometric surveys with redshift uncertainty delta_z ~ 0.03 can yield final redshift uncertainties of delta_z_f ~ 0 ...

The VIMOS Public Extragalactic Redshift Survey (VIPERS) ⋆ Luminosity and stellar mass dependence of galaxy clustering at 0.5< z< 1.1 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Aims. We investigate the dependence of galaxy clustering on luminosity and stellar mass in the redshift range 0.5 < z < 1.1, using the first ~ 55 000 redshifts from the VIMOS Public Extragalactic Redshift Survey (VIPERS). Methods.

Topological Insulator Layered Bi2Te3 Based 3D‐Printed Nanocarbon Electrode for Rechargeable Aqueous Ammonium‐Ion Battery

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this work, Bi2Te3 is integrated into a 3D‐printed nanocarbon electrode for NH4+ storage. A rocking‐chair battery with CuHCF as the cathode delivers a high energy density of 134.8 Wh kg−1 and a power density of 1800 W kg−1. The design allows easy recovery of carbon additives, promoting sustainability and recyclability in next‐generation aqueous ...

Photo-zSNthesis: Converting Type Ia Supernova Lightcurves to Redshift Estimates via Deep Learning

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2023
Upcoming photometric surveys will discover tens of thousands of Type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia), vastly outpacing the capacity of our spectroscopic resources.

Cosmological baryonic and matter densities from 600,000 SDSS Luminous Red Galaxies with photometric redshifts

open access: yes, 2006
We analyze MegaZ-LRG, a photometric-redshift catalogue of Luminous Red Galaxies (LRGs) based on the imaging data of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) 4th Data Release.

THE REDSHIFT DISTRIBUTION OF DUSTY STAR-FORMING GALAXIES FROM THE SPT SURVEY [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We use the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) in Cycle 1 to determine spectroscopic redshifts of high-redshift dusty star-forming galaxies (DSFGs) selected by their 1.4 mm continuum emission in the South Pole Telescope (SPT) survey.

Scalable Perovskite Quantum Dot Glass Nanocomposites for High‐Efficiency Luminescent Solar Concentrators

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study evaluates the scalability of PQD GNC‐based LSCs for BIPV applications. Experimental data and Monte Carlo simulations predict performance up to 1 m2, achieving a peak power conversion efficiency of 3.17%. The results confirm the viability of these LSCs for energy‐efficient building applications.
