Upper Cohen-Macaulay Dimension [PDF]
In this paper, we define a homological invariant for finitely generated modules over a commutative noetherian local ring, which we call upper Cohen-Macaulay dimension.

REDUCED-DIMENSION CLUSTERING FOR VEGETATION SEGMENTATION
Segmentation of vegetation is a critical step in using machine vision for field automation tasks. A new method called reduced-dimensionclustering (RDC) was developed based on theoretical considerations about the color distribution of field images. RDC performed unsupervised classification of pixels in field images into vegetation and background classes.

Essential dimension of cubics [PDF]
In this paper, we compute the essential dimension of the functor of cubics in three variables up to linear changes of coordinates when the base field has characteristic different from 2 and 3.

Reduced-Dimension Wiener Filter Based on Perpendicular Partition
This paper addresses the reduced-dimension Wiener filter based on perpendicular partition. Two algorithms, i.e., cyclic per-weight (CPW) and batch CPW (BCPW) are presented, which can efficiently perform reduced-dimension adaptive beamforming.

Contributions to the essential dimension of finite and algebraic groups [PDF]
Essential dimension, introduced by Joe Buhler and Zinovy Reichstein and in its most general form by Alexander Merkurjev is a measure of complexity of algebraic objects such as quadratic forms, hermitian forms, central simple algebras and étale algebras ...

On simultaneous local dimension functions of subsets of Rd [PDF]
Date of Acceptance: 04/05/2015For a subset E ⊑ Rd and x ∈ Rd, the local Hausdorff dimension function of E at x and the local packing dimension function of E at x are defined by (Formula presented.) where dimH and dimP denote the Hausdorff dimension and ...

Focus on Spintronics in Reduced Dimensions
In the past ten years or so 'Spintronics' has evolved into a central part of solid state physics that addresses the intimate relation of electron charge and spin transport. To date, it is a huge field covering topics that range from applied micromagnetics to quantum computing.

AN ADAPTIVE COMPOSITE QUANTILE APPROACH TO DIMENSION REDUCTION [PDF]
Sufficient dimension reduction [Li 1991] has long been a prominent issue in multivariate nonparametric regression analysis. To uncover the central dimension reduction space, we propose in this paper an adaptive composite quantile approach.

A reduced dimension multiple signal classification–based direct location algorithm with dense arrays
Aiming at the issue of parameter matching in conventional two-step location, a reduced dimension multiple signal classification direct position determination algorithm based on multi-array is proposed.
