MODELING THE RECOVERY RATE IN A REDUCED FORM MODEL
Mathematical Finance, 2009This paper provides a model for the recovery rate process in a reduced form model. After default, a firm continues to operate, and the recovery rate is determined by the value of the firm's assets relative to its liabilities. The debt recovers a different magnitude depending upon whether or not the firm enters insolvency and bankruptcy.

Reducible Theories and Amalgamations of Models
ACM Transactions on Computational Logic, 2023Within knowledge representation in artificial intelligence, a first-order ontology is a theory in first-order logic that axiomatizes the concepts in some domain. Ontology verification is concerned with the relationship between the intended models of an ontology and the models of the axiomatization of the ontology. In particular, we want to characterize

Reduced Models of Algae Growth
Bulletin of Mathematical Biology, 2009The simulation of biological systems is often plagued by a high level of noise in the data, as well as by models containing a large number of correlated parameters. As a result, the parameters are poorly identified by the data, and the reliability of the model predictions may be questionable.

Logspace Reducibility: Models and Equivalences
International Journal of Foundations of Computer Science, 1997We study the relative computational power of logspace reduction models. In particular, we study the relationships between one-way and two-way oracle tapes, resetting of the oracle head, and blanking of the oracle tape. We show that oracle models letting information persist between queries can be quite powerful, even if the information is not readable ...

Map/Reduce is the programming model in cloud computing. It enables the processing of data sets of unprecedented size, but it also delegates the handling of complex data structures completely to its users. In this paper, we apply Map/Reduce to EMF-based models to cope with complex data structures in the familiar an easy-to-use and type-safe EMF fashion,

Reduced Models of Arterial Systems
IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering, 1985Simple models that manifest input impedances of arterial systems are compared. An improvement upon documented two-, three-, and five-element models is presented. The classical two-element model (the windkessel) accounts for the lowest frequency components, and the three-element model (the modified windkessel) accounts for both low-and high-frequency ...
