Reduced rank vector generalized linear models for feature extraction [PDF]

open access: yesStatistics and Its Interface, 2013
Supervised linear feature extraction can be achieved by fitting a reduced rank multivariate model. This paper studies rank penalized and rank constrained vector generalized linear models. From the perspective of thresholding rules, we build a framework for fitting singular value penalized models and use it for feature extraction.

DELP Treatment on Vision and Retinal Microcirculation in Patients With Acute Ischemic Stroke: Report of Five Cases and Literature Review

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background The delipid extracorporeal lipoprotein filter from plasma (DELP) treatment can effectively reduce blood lipid, increase blood flow, and improve neurological deficits in patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS). However, its effect on vision and retinal microcirculation in stroke patients has never been reported.

Modulation of the hepatic RANK-RANKL-OPG axis by combined C5 and CD14 inhibition in a long-term polytrauma model

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology
BackgroundPolytrauma and hemorrhagic shock can lead to direct and indirect liver damage involving intricate pathophysiologic mechanisms. While hepatic function has been frequently highlighted, there is minimal research on how the receptor activator of ...

A Comparative Study of Cerebral Oxygenation During Exercise in Hemodialysis and Peritoneal Dialysis Patients

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Cognitive impairment and exercise intolerance are common in dialysis patients. Cerebral perfusion and oxygenation play a major role in both cognitive function and exercise execution; HD session per se aggravates cerebral ischemia in this population. This study aimed to compare cerebral oxygenation and perfusion at rest and in mild

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Cointegrating Rank Selection in Models with Time-Varying Variance [PDF]

open access: yes
Reduced rank regression (RRR) models with time varying heterogeneity are considered. Standard information criteria for selecting cointegrating rank are shown to be weakly consistent in semiparametric RRR models in which the errors have general ...

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Submodels of the three-dimentional Westervelt model in the absence of dissipation

open access: yesНаука. Инновации. Технологии, 2022
A general form of all invariant submodels of rank 1 of the three-dimensional model of the Westervelt model of nonlinear hydroacoustics is obtained in the absence of dissipation.

Semiparametric Cointegrating Rank Selection [PDF]

open access: yes
Some convenient limit properties of usual information criteria are given for cointegrating rank selection. Allowing for a nonparametric short memory component and using a reduced rank regression with only a single lag, standard information criteria are ...
