Effect of reduced tillage on wheat quality traits

Acta Alimentaria, 2006
The effect of tillage systems (TS) on wheat quality traits including grain yield, thousand- kernels weight, hectoliter mass, flour extraction rate and flour rheological properties were evaluated. Five different TS were compared in winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) production on one experimental field (chernosem) located in the Baranya region, north ...

Conventional and reduced tillage in Hungary — A review

Soil and Tillage Research, 1989
Abstract Tillage systems commonly used in Hungary are in no way similar to the number of new soil-preserving shallow-tillage or direct-drilling systems now commonly used in other countries. The applicability of such new methods in Hungary is currently being tested.

PART I: History, Principles and Economics of Crop Production With Reduced Tillage Systems History of Reduced Tillage Systems

Bulletin of the Entomological Society of America, 1976
This paper will deal with the evolution of tillage practices during the last 4 to 5 decades. A corn grower in the midwest during the 1920's or 1930's might plow the soil, till with a disk 3 or 4 times to break clods, then drag or harrow to smooth the surface and complete preparation of a fine, firm seedbed.

Reduced soil tillage - Croatian experience

2008
To determine the optimal ploughing depth and to make tillage simpler and less costly, taking into account edaphic and climatic conditions as well as biological and agrotechnical requirements of crops grown, long-term investigations (1994-2008) have been carried out on Stagnic Luvisol of sloping terrains in central Croatia near Daruvar.

Reduced tillage in north-west Europe—A review

Soil and Tillage Research, 1985
Abstract The main features of the climate and soils of the main crop production areas of different countries in north-west Europe are outlined, and the main crops grown are summarised. The need for tillage is considered; provided that suitable conditions exist for germination, root growth is most likely to be influenced by mechanical impedance and ...

ESA Symposium: Crop Production With Reduced Tillage Systems

Bulletin of the Entomological Society of America, 1976
For many centuries, crops have been produced with tillage systems that manipulate the soil a number of times. The tillage system often employed in the production of row crops might involve plowing, one or more diskings, then one or more cultivations after crop emergence. Such a system is usually referred to as a conventional tillage system.

Influence of reduced tillage on wheat quality properties

2004
The effect of reduced tillage on the wheat quality properties during 2000/2001 vegetation year on Kneževo experimental site were determined in Croatian Baranya region. The most stable wheat yield, highly 1000 kernel weight and hectoliter mass was achieved by conventional tillage and disc harrowing (fine tilth).
