Breast Reduction

Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, 2012
After studying this article, the participant should be able to: 1. Understand the preoperative considerations that must be weighed to appropriately assess operative risk of breast reduction. 2. Have a full understanding of the basic techniques that are available to treat the patient with macromastia. 3.

Reductive Modes

Periodica Mathematica Hungarica, 1998
A mode is an idempotent and entropic algebra, i.e., every singleton is a subalgebra and each operation is a homomorphism. A mode is \(n\)-step left reductive if it has a binary term and satisfies the identity: \[ x_1\cdot (x_2\cdot \dots(x_n\cdot y)\dots)=x_1\cdot(x_2\cdot\dots(x_n\cdot z)\dots).

Lip Reduction Surgery (Reduction Cheiloplasty)

Facial Plastic Surgery Clinics of North America, 2010
This article discusses and presents options related to the cosmetic reduction of enlarged lips, primarily in ethnic populations. No formal study is performed. The author presents a literature review and discusses his personal 26-year experiences in lip surgery.

Mandibular Reduction

The Journal of Emergency Medicine, 2008
Patients who dislocate their mandible often present to the Emergency Department for care. Dislocation can occur after a variety of activities that hyperextend the mandible or open the mouth widely, such as yawning, laughing, or taking a large bite. Anterior dislocation is the most common type, in which the condylar head of the mandible dislocates out ...

Reducts and constructs in attribute reduction

Fundam. Informaticae, 2004
Summary: One of the main notions in the Rough Set Theory (RST) is that of a reduct. According to its classic definition, the reduct is a minimal subset of the attributes that retains some important properties of the whole set of attributes. The idea of the reduct proved to be interesting enough to inspire a great deal of research and resulted in ...

Uranium Reduction

Annual Review of Microbiology, 2006
The dramatic decrease in solubility accompanying the reduction of U(VI) to U(IV), producing the insoluble mineral uraninite, has been viewed as a potential mechanism for sequestration of environmental uranium contamination. In the past 15 years, it has been firmly established that a variety of bacteria exhibit this reductive capacity.

Truth and Reduction

Erkenntnis, 2000
The subject matter of this paper is relations of first-order theories with truth predicates and second-order number theories. In the first part of the paper, the author presents a non-technical discussion about the natures of reductions. Ontological reductions replace the set notion by the truth notion in one way or another.

Dehydroascorbate reduction

Journal of Bioenergetics and Biomembranes, 1994
Dehydroascorbic acid is generated in plants and animal cells by oxidation of ascorbic acid. The reaction is believed to occur by the one-electron oxidation of ascorbic acid to semidehydroascorbate radical followed by disproportionation to dehydroascorbic acid and ascorbic acid. Semidehydroascorbic acid may recycle to ascorbic acid catalyzed by membrane-

On NFA Reductions

2004
We give faster algorithms for two methods of reducing the number of states in nondeterministic finite automata. The first uses equivalences and the second uses preorders. We develop restricted reduction algorithms that operate on position automata while preserving some of its properties.

Metaplectic Reduction

Journal of the London Mathematical Society, 1992
The descent of metaplectic structures under symplectic reduction in general and Marsden-Weinstein (MW) reduction in particular are investigated. First, it is shown how the metaplectic group interacts with symplectic reduction, and the reduction of metaplectic structures on symplectic vector bundles is discussed.
