Pyrolusite–CO reduction kinetics

Chemical Engineering Journal, 2016
Abstract Pyrolusite is an inexpensive and nontoxic manganese ore with exceptional oxygen transfer capacity that makes it a potential candidate for chemical looping combustion. We evaluate the oxygen transfer capacity and kinetics of pyrolusite, an inexpensive and nontoxic manganese ore.

Reduction kinetics of CuO-ZnO

Solid State Ionics, 1993
Abstract Copper-containing catalysts are activated, before use, by a reduction process where the presence of ZnO has a promoting effect. The present paper deals with the kinetic behaviour of the reduction of the copper species in well defined specimens of CuO-ZnO.

Reduction kinetics of cytochromes b

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Bioenergetics, 1972
Abstract 1. 1. Durohydroquinone (H2DQ), a specific reductant for the second phosphorylation site, has been used in the study of the fast reduction kinetics of cytochromes b. 2. 2. In ubiquinone-extracted mitochondria, H2DQ reduces cytochrome(s) b in a fast reaction, the rate and extent of which decreases upon reincorporation of ubiquinone ...

Reduction kinetics of bacterial cytochromes c2

Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics, 1977
Abstract In a continuing effort to understand the mechanism of electron transfer by c -type cytochromes we have extended our investigations of the oxidation and reduction of Rhodospirillum rubrum cytochrome c 2 . We have utilized the oxidant, oxidized azurin, and the reductants SO 2 − , S 2 O 4 2− , sodium ascorbate, and reduced azurin.

General Methods of Kinetic Model Reduction

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1995
Abstract Two novel approaches to simplification of a kinetic mechanism are presented. The first combines macroscopic reactor balances with linear variable selection techniques from the statistics literature. The second approach formulates the network reduction problem as a combinatorial optimization problem that is solved using genetic algorithms ...

Magnesiothermic reduction kinetics of UF4

Journal of Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry, 2020
The most popular method for production of metallic uranium is by magnesiothermic reduction of UF4. Efficient production of good quality uranium metal chunk in the reaction vessel requires multiple parameter constraints. To theoretically optimize these process parameters, many basic properties, i.e.

Noise reduction in relaxation kinetic experiments

Talanta, 1980
The use of high-speed digital data-acquisition devices makes it possible to obtain a large number of points (>4000) for a single experiment during a short time interval. A suitable numerical treatment capable of reducing the periodic and random noise in relaxation-curves and of providing relaxation times and amplitudes of high accuracy is presented.

Kinetics of the Birch reduction

Berichte der Bunsengesellschaft für physikalische Chemie, 1998
AbstractBecause of contradictions in the literature, we reinvestigated the kinetics of the Birch reduction, i.e. the hydrogenation of benzene and its derivatives in metal ammonia solutions (MAS: containing solvated electrons e− and metal cations M+) with alcohols to yield the corresponding cyclohexa‐1,4‐dien compounds (e.g.

Reduction kinetics of iron powder

Soviet Powder Metallurgy and Metal Ceramics, 1970
1. In the preparation of sponge iron by the composite method, reduction is governed by a predominantly diffusion-type mechanism, i.e., obeys an essentially parabolic law, when a loose charge is used; with a briquetted charge, a kinetic mechanism becomes operative, in consequence of which reduction is governed by a linear law. 2.

Kinetics of hexachloroplatinic acid reduction

Reaction Kinetics and Catalysis Letters, 1977
The kinetics of hexachloroplatinic acid reduction with hydrogen have been studied at several temperatures by determining the rate of hydrochloric acid formation. The kinetic parameters are reported and discussed.
