Mathematical simulation of direct reduction
Metallurgical Transactions B, 1981A finite element analysis is developed for nontopochemical reduction of a porous iron oxide pellet. The reduction kinetics are essentially the same as those used by Trushenski, Li and Philbrook. However, several novel features arise in the present analysis.

Coverage Reduction: A Mathematical Model
Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Systems, 2018This paper deals with a mathematical model for reduction of the lack of coverage (LC) involving multiple coverage in presence of partial covering. The model proposes a new structure of assignment of facilities in a facility location system to cover in greater proportion of the demand territory, avoiding assignment of several facilities in the same ...

Managing prototype reduction with mathematical programming
Innovation in Technology Management. The Key to Global Leadership. PICMET '97, 2002Summary form only given as follows. This paper describes a math programming model used to construct a minimal shared prototype fleet that meets all testing needs. The model is run iteratively to guide a test plan development process that involves ongoing dialogue between test requesters and fleet planners.

Entropy reduction in mathematical giftedness
2003This paper deals with the elementary analysis of cognitive processes in mathematical problem solving for better diagnostics. The present experiment was designed to analyse the internal process and to localize the neural substrates involved in solving mathematical tasks, using EEG-coherence. The internal process is revealed by a sequence of microstates.
