The Impact of Nutritional Status on Oral Health Outcomes and Management in Older Adults: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesGerodontology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective This systematic review and meta‐analysis evaluated the relationship between nutritional status and the oral health of older adults (aged 75 years or older). The PECO focus question was, ‘What is the occurrence, association and impact of nutritional state on the oral health outcomes and its management in older adults?’ Methods A ...

Peixe Zircon as a Quality Control Reference Material in U‐Pb Geochronology by LA‐ICP‐MS

open access: yesGeostandards and Geoanalytical Research, EarlyView.
Key Points Peixe#0 zircon was characterised for U‐Pb geochronology using CA‐ID‐TIMS, SIMS and a long‐term LA‐ICP‐MS data set. The consistent results establish Peixe#0 as a reference material for U‐Pb quality control. Trace element heterogeneity requires careful, CL‐guided spot selection.

Trace element partitioning between pyrochlore, microlite, fersmite and silicate melts

open access: yesGeochemical Transactions, 2020
We present experimentally determined trace element partition coefficients (D) between pyrochlore-group minerals (Ca2(Nb,Ta)2O6(O,F)), Ca fersmite (CaNb2O6), and silicate melts.

Joint effects of elevated copper and temperature in juvenile Tambaqui exposed in black and white waters of the Amazon

open access: yesJournal of Fish Biology, EarlyView.
Abstract This study aimed to investigate how exposure to elevated water temperature and metal concentration jointly affect the physiology of Amazonian fish. Aboard a research vessel in the Amazon, we evaluated the effects of water temperature (river T°C at 31.5°C and a + 4°C increase to 35.5°C) and of 3‐h copper (Cu) exposure (up to 600 μg/L) in ...

Timing of Metamorphism and Deformation in the Neoarchean Quetico Metasedimentary Belt, Superior Craton, Constrained by Garnet Trace‐Element Mapping and Lu–Hf Geochronology

open access: yesJournal of Metamorphic Geology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The Quetico subprovince of the Superior Province is among the largest metasedimentary belts globally and provides evidence of tectonic processes at play during the final stages of Archean cratonization. Although previous studies have shown that deformation and metamorphism of the 2.7‐Ga turbiditic protolith resulted in regional subvertical ...

Rare-earth and rare-metal mineralization in late granite of Syrostan massif (Southern Urals)

open access: yesЛитосфера, 2015
The article provides a complete list of Syrostan massif minerals, which includes 47 mineral species. It is shown that the rare-metal and rare-earth mineralization is confined to the late vein facies - granite dykes and pegmatites.

Extractability and mineralogical evaluation of rare earth elements from Waterberg Coalfield run-of-mine and discard coal

open access: yesInternational Journal of Coal Science & Technology
This study explores the extraction of rare earth elements (REEs) from high-ash run-of-mine and discard coal sourced from the Waterberg Coalfield. Three distinct methods were employed: (1) ultrasonic-assisted caustic digestion; (2) direct acid leaching ...

Small‐scale elemental abundance variations in Ryugu particles from touchdown 1

open access: yesMeteoritics &Planetary Science, EarlyView.
Abstract Ryugu materials closely resemble CI chondrites' mineralogical, chemical, and isotopic compositions; yet minor but resolvable differences in certain elemental abundances are evident. In this study, the bulk chemical compositions of eight individual Ryugu particles (1.5–4.3 mg) from the first touchdown site (TD1) were determined using triple ...

The Lomagundi-Jatuli carbon isotopic event recorded in the marble of the Tandilia System basement, Río de la Plata Craton, Argentina [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The “Lomagundi-Jatuli event” corresponds to the most important δ13C positive anomaly (≥5‰) globally reported in Palaeoproterozoic marine carbonates (between ∼2.30 and 2.06 Ga).
