Exploitation, secondary extinction and the altered trophic structure of Jamaican coral reefs [PDF]
Coral reef communities of the Greater Antilles in the Caribbean have a long history of anthropogenic disturbance, driven by the exploitation for food of both vertebrate and invertebrate species.

Transitions in coral reef accretion rates linked to intrinsic ecological shifts on turbid-zone nearshore reefs [PDF]
Nearshore coral communities within turbid settings are typically perceived to have limited reef-building capacity. However, several recent studies have reported reef growth over millennial time scales within such environments and have hypothesized that ...

Additive manufacturing enables complex structures, but polymer printing often suffers from poor interlayer fusion and defects induced by heat or binders. A two‐step, room‐temperature strategy based on immersion phase separation (IPS‐E3DP) achieves precise liquid‐state fusion with high structural fidelity, enhanced mechanical performance, broad material

Early coral skeletons grow through formation of two co‐joined zones, rapid accretion deposits and thickening deposits. Advanced imaging and simulations reveal that ocean acidification reshapes these zones, shifting the coral portfolio of mineral phases which alters skeletal resistance to mechanical stress.

At Samaesan Island, which is in Chon Buri Province, the Upper Gulf of Thailand, in 2018 we found skunk anemonefish (Amphiprion akallopisos) previously only known from the Andaman Sea that have been establishing their populations in the area at a 4-m ...

Coral spawning information [PDF]
Information on reproduction in reef corals is presented. An understanding of its reproductive behaviour is an important factor in helping to preserve the coral reef ...
