Spatial Strategies in Coral Transplantation: A Systematic Review of Clustered Versus Widespread Configurations

open access: yesAquatic Conservation: Marine and Freshwater Ecosystems, Volume 36, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Active coral reef restoration incorporates ecological engineering principles. Yet, the spatial arrangement of transplanted colonies, one of the few design parameters directly controlled by practitioners, remains poorly explored empirically. We conducted a systematic review following PRISMA guidelines to evaluate how clustered (high‐density ...

The Immuno‐Cardiovascular Storm of Pre‐Eclampsia: Cytokine‐Mediated Endothelial Injury, Thrombosis, and Maternal Cardiovascular Instability

open access: yesComprehensive Physiology, Volume 16, Issue 4, August 2026.
Placental ischemia in pre‐eclampsia initiates cytokine‐driven endothelial dysfunction, angiogenic imbalance, oxidative stress, and thromboinflammation. Elevated TNF‐α, IL‐6, IL‐17, sFlt‐1, and complement activation promote vasoconstriction, thrombosis, and cardiovascular instability.

Erythropoietin Disequilibrium in Hypertensive Disorders of Pregnancy: Molecular Crosstalk, Placental Hypoxia and Perinatal Consequences

open access: yesComprehensive Physiology, Volume 16, Issue 4, August 2026.
Placental hypoxia, HIF‐1α activation, renal HIF‐2α‐mediated EPO signaling, inflammation, and hepcidin‐driven iron restriction converge to produce functional EPO resistance. This erythropoietin disequilibrium impairs effective erythropoiesis, aggravates maternal vascular dysfunction, compromises placental oxygen transfer, and contributes to adverse ...

Preserved Spermatogenesis and Hormonal Function in Men Receiving a Pretomanid Regimen (BPaMZ) for Pulmonary Drug‐Resistant Tuberculosis

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology &Therapeutics, Volume 120, Issue 2, Page 501-509, August 2026.
Pretomanid is a component of the World Health Organization‐recommended treatment regimen for drug‐resistant tuberculosis in patients aged ≥ 14 years. While preclinical rodent studies identified testicular toxicity as a potential clinical liability at elevated doses, no corresponding effects were observed in nonhuman primates nor clinical hormone ...

Yulendji Bunwurrung Walagunh With Western Science: Ecological Insights, Emerging Research Questions and Future Directions From Bunurong Stories of Marine Mammals

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 8, August 2026.
Indigenous Knowledge systems contain deep, place‐based ecological insights developed over generations but remain underrepresented in biodiversity assessments and conservation planning. This study explores yulendji Bunwurrung (Bunurong knowledge) through five Stories shared by a Bunurong Elder, using thematic analysis and comparison with contemporary ...
