The Need for Better Monitoring of Climate Change in the Middle and Upper Atmosphere

open access: yesAGU Advances, Volume 6, Issue 2, April 2025.
Abstract Anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions significantly impact the middle and upper atmosphere. They cause cooling and thermal shrinking and affect the atmospheric structure. Atmospheric contraction results in changes in key atmospheric features, such as the stratopause height or the peak ionospheric electron density, and also results in reduced ...

The effects of loose, firm, fine, and coarse substrates on the movement of the red flour beetle

open access: yesInsect Science, Volume 32, Issue 2, Page 662-674, April 2025.
The study focused on the impact of substrate roughness on movement properties, utilizing the red flour beetle as a model organism. Findings revealed significant variations in movement behavior between rough and smooth substrates, with beetles traveling longer distances on smooth surfaces compared to sandpaper and loose sand.

Adverse childhood experiences among parents in prison: Implications for parenting

open access: yesFamily Relations, Volume 74, Issue 2, Page 1021-1041, April 2025.
Abstract Objective This study examined rates of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) among parents of at least one minor child compared to nonparents in prison, and, among parents, mothers compared to fathers. We then assessed associations between ACEs and seven parenting variables (e.g., contact with children, interest in parenting classes ...
