Accuracy of prediction of infarct-related arrhythmic circuits from 2 image-based models reconstructed from low and high resolution 3 MRI

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2015
Identification of optimal ablation sites in hearts with infarct-related ventricular tachycardia (VT) remains difficult to achieve with the current catheter-based mapping techniques.

Dynamical Lifetime Survey of Geostationary Transfer Orbits [PDF]

open access: yesCelest Mech Dyn Astr (2018) 130: 77, 2019
In this paper, we study the long-term dynamical evolution of highly-elliptical orbits (HEOs) in the medium-Earth orbit (MEO) region around the Earth. The real population consists primarily of Geosynchronous Transfer Orbits (GTOs), launched at specific inclinations, Molniya-type satellites and related debris.

Characteristic Model-Based Robust Model Predictive Control for Hypersonic Vehicles with Constraints

open access: yesFrontiers in Robotics and AI, 2017
Designing robust control for hypersonic vehicles in reentry is difficult, due to the features of the vehicles including strong coupling, non-linearity, and multiple constraints.

The Dynamics of Sustained Reentry in a Loop Model with Discrete Gap Junction Resistance [PDF]

open access: yesPhys. Rev. E. 76, 021928 (2007), 2007
Dynamics of reentry are studied in a one dimensional loop of model cardiac cells with discrete intercellular gap junction resistance ($R$). Each cell is represented by a continuous cable with ionic current given by a modified Beeler-Reuter formulation. For $R$ below a limiting value, propagation is found to change from period-1 to quasi-periodic ($QP$)

Preliminary Study: Learning the Impact of Simulation Time on Reentry Location and Morphology Induced by Personalized Cardiac Modeling

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2021
Personalized cardiac modeling is widely used for studying the mechanisms of cardiac arrythmias. Due to the high demanding of computational resource of modeling, the arrhythmias induced in the models are usually simulated for just a few seconds. In clinic,

Family Matters: Moving Beyond “If” Family Support Matters to “Why” Family Support Matters during Reentry from Prison

open access: yesJournal of research in crime and delinquency, 2018
Objectives: Informed by social control and differential coercion and social support theories, we examine how multiple theoretically and methodologically distinct factors of family support relate to reincarceration, substance use, and criminal offending ...

What's age got to do with it? A primer and review of the workplace aging literature

open access: yesPersonnel Psychology, Volume 75, Issue 4, Page 779-804, Winter 2022., 2022
Abstract As populations in the United States and around the world continue to age, it has become increasingly important to understand how organizations can create working conditions that attract, support, and retain workers across the lifespan. In this paper, we provide a primer on current theory and research on age in the workplace.

“Traditions Are Not for Me”: Curriculum, Alternative Schools, and Formerly Incarcerated Young Black Men’s Academic Success

open access: yesSocial Sciences, 2020
Literature suggests that culturally promotive curricula can counter the effect of anti-Blackness in United States (U.S.) schools by cultivating Black students’ cultural, social, and academic development and fostering learning environments in which they ...

The System Is Not Broken, It Is Intentional: The Prisoner Reentry Industry as Deliberate Structural Violence

open access: yesThe Prison journal, 2019
The prisoner reentry industry (PRI) emerged as a by-product of mass incarceration, with the stated purpose of helping the formerly incarcerated reenter society and achieve a new “law-abiding” status.
