Abstract Few studies have examined birth order effects on personality in countries that are not Western, educated, industrialized, rich, and democratic (WEIRD). However, theories have generally suggested that interculturally universal family dynamics are the mechanism behind birth order effects, and prominent theories such as resource dilution would ...

On Rees localiti es and $H_i$-local rings
The main theorem gives a necessary and sufficient condition for each Rees locality $\mathscr{L}=R[tb, u]_{(M,tb,u)}$ of a local ring $(R, M) $ with respect to a principal ideal $bR$ in $R$ to be either an $H_{i}$-ring (that is, for all prime ideals $p$ in $\mathscr{L}$ such that height $p=i$, depth $p=$ altitude $\mathscr{L}-i$) or a homogeneously $H_ ...

Projectively equivalent ideals and Rees valuations
Let R be a Noetherian ring. Two ideals I and J in R are projectively equivalent in case the integral closure of Ii is equal to the integral closure of Jj for some i,j∈N+. It is known that if I and J are projectively equivalent, then the set ReesI of Rees

Abstract The Aliança Formation (Jatobá Basin) represents lacustrine deposits formed in oxygenated waters that hosted a diverse fauna, including Hybodontiform sharks. Within this group, the Family Lonchidiidae comprises 11 valid genera, with Parvodus previously reported in Brazilian deposits from the Brejo Santo Formation (Araripe Basin, Late Jurassic ...

The petrotympanic canal (Huguier canal): Evolutionary, anatomical, and medical perspectives
Abstract The petrotympanic canal, traditionally referred to as Civinini's or Huguier's canal, represents an anatomical passage connecting the middle ear and temporomandibular joint (TMJ). Despite its early description, its structural complexity and functional significance have often been underestimated. In this study, we combined historical, anatomical,

Essential sequences and Rees rings
S. McAdam and the author introduced the concept of essential sequences in a Noetherian \(ring\quad R\) (that is, over the ideal \(I=(0)\) of R) which are an excellent analogue of asymptotic sequences in \(R\). But the essential sequences over ideals \(I\neq (0)\) are not a good analogue of asymptotic sequences over \(I\neq (0)\). D. Katz and the author

Rees algebras of conormal modules
We deal with classes of prime ideals whose associated graded ring is isomorphic to the Rees algebra of the conormal module. With such prime ideals we describe the divisor class groups of the associated graded rings.

Educational pathways and outcomes for care‐experienced children: A 16‐year longitudinal study
Abstract Children who are removed from their birth families during childhood—termed care‐experienced—can be at risk for lower educational attainment and poorer school experiences, often linked to deprivation and behavioural factors. However, research often uses aggregated measures that obscure the complexities of care (e.g.

Depth Properties of Rees Algebras and Associated Graded Rings
Let \(R\) be a Cohen-Macaulay local ring of dimension \(\geq 1\) with maximal ideal \(M\) and \(I\) an \(M\)-primary ideal. This paper is interested in determining the depth of the associated graded ring \(gr_ I(R)\) and in connecting \(\text{depth} gr_ I(R)\) with the depth of the Rees algebra \(R[It]\).
