O‐Acetyl‐Serine Supplementation Enhances Insulin Secretion and Improves Postprandial Glycaemia in Lean and Prediabetic Mice

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 4, 28 February 2026.
Following oral administration, O‐acetyl‐serine (OAS) enters the circulation and transiently accumulates in the pancreas, where it stimulates insulin secretion in a glucose‐dependent manner. OAS also stimulates GLP‐1 secretion, which may partially contribute to its insulin‐secretion–enhancing effects.

Effects of Larval Starvation Stress on the Life History and Adult Fitness of Fall Webworm, Hyphantria Cunea

open access: yesInsects
Insects often encounter starvation stress, especially during invasion spread or population outbreaks. The fall webworm, Hyphantria cunea (Drury) (Lepidoptera: Arctiidae), is an important invasive pest in China, and the starvation resistance of its larvae

Fat-free mass change to weightchange ratio during refeeding following lungtransplantation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
. : Malnutrition occurs frequently prior to lung transplantation (LTR), but patients gain weight after LTR. The study aimed to determine the ratio changes of fat-free mass (ΔFFM): changes of body weight (ΔBW) during refeeding.
