A computational model of the referential semantics of projective prepositions [PDF]
In this paper we present a framework for interpreting locative expressions containing the prepositions in front of and behind. These prepositions have different semantics in the viewer-centred and intrinsic frames of reference (Vandeloise, 1991).

A Unified Global Reference Frame of Vertical Crustal Movements by Satellite Laser Ranging
Crustal movement is one of the main factors influencing the change of the Earth system, especially in its vertical direction, which affects people’s daily life through the frequent occurrence of earthquakes, geological disasters, and so on.

Several studies have demonstrated a dissociation of the effects of illusion on perception and action, with perception generally reported to be susceptible to illusions, while actions are seemingly immune.

Should there be a spin-rotation coupling for a Dirac particle? [PDF]
It was argued by Mashhoon that a spin-rotation coupling term should add to the Hamiltonian operator in a rotating frame, as compared with the one in an inertial frame.

Different roles of alpha and beta band oscillations in sensorimotor gating
Alpha (8-12Hz) and beta band (18-30Hz) oscillations have been implicated in sensory anticipation and motor preparation. Here, using magneto-encephalography, we tested whether they have distinct functional roles in a saccade task that induces a remapping ...

Roles of the Retinotopic and Environmental Frames of Reference on Vection
Humans perceive self-motion using multisensory information, while vision has a dominant role as is utilized in virtual reality (VR) technologies. Previous studies reported that visual motion presented in the lower visual field (LoVF) induces stronger ...

Concept of spatial coordinate systems, their defining and implementation as a precondition in geospatial applications [PDF]
There are many users of spatial information, and quite large interest about the nature and genesis of such information. Different users found spatial information in the form of maps, plans or alphanumerical tables. Recently, there are more often

Coordinated Control of Wind Energy Conversion System during Unsymmetrical Fault at Grid
High penetration of wind power into the grid necessitates the coordinated action of wind energy conversion systems and the grid. A suitable generation control is required to fulfill the grid integration requirements, especially during faults.
