Comparability of reference values
Fresenius' Journal of Analytical Chemistry, 1993Harmonization of certified values in Reference Materials (RMs) can be carried out by applying nuclear analytical techniques to RMs of various matrix types and concentration levels. Although RMs generally should not be used as primary standards the cross evaluation of concentrations in RMs leads to better compatibility of reference values and thus to a ...

Extended dynamometry: reference values
Journal of Hand Surgery (European Volume), 2018Grip strength is used as a measure of capacity in disability and personal injury claims. Although seemingly an objective measure, it is widely recognized that it is fallible to the effects of sub-maximal effort. We have developed an extended test protocol that uses the five positions of a Jamar dynamometer.

Comparison of spirometric reference values
Pediatric Pulmonology, 2004AbstractLung‐function reference values play a vital role in the management of respiratory disorders. There are many proposed reference equations for pediatric spirometry. Recently, spirometric reference equations were proposed, using data from people aged 8–80 years living in the US compiled by the third National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey.

[Polychlorobiphenyls: reference values].
Giornale italiano di medicina del lavoro ed ergonomia, 2003The purpose of this work is to compare the PCB values in blood, serum and adipose tissue of non-exposed people over the last twenty years of scientific literature in order to establish whether the determination of single congeners is better then the evaluation of the total PCB amount moreover an analytical strategy useful to define a reference value ...

Electrocardiographic reference values in whippets
The Veterinary Journal, 2009The aim of this study was to determine the electrocardiographic characteristics of whippets and to compare the results with published reference values for a general dog population. Electrocardiographic parameters from 105 healthy whippets were used to establish reference values for the breed.

Library Review, 1929
IT has been said of the late David Laing, who for so many years was guide, philosopher and friend to all workers in the field of Scottish history and antiquities who came to consult him in the Signet Library, that he had little need for a catalogue of the library since he knew all the important works by head and horn, and could lay his hands upon them ...
