A two-point boundary value problem on a Lorentz manifold arising in A. Poltorak's concept of reference frame [PDF]
In A. Poltorak's concept, the reference frame in General Relativity is a certain manifold equipped with a connection. The question under consideration here is whether it is possible to join two events in the space-time by a time-like geodesic if they are joined by a geodesic of the reference frame connection that has a time-like initial vector.

Multiple $q$-Zeta Values [PDF]
We introduce a $q$-analog of the multiple harmonic series commonly referred to as multiple zeta values. The multiple $q$-zeta values satisfy a $q$-stuffle multiplication rule analogous to the stuffle multiplication rule arising from the series representation of ordinary multiple zeta values.

Making tau amyloid models in vitro: a crucial and underestimated challenge
This review highlights the challenges of producing in vitro amyloid assemblies of the tau protein. We review how accurately the existing protocols mimic tau deposits found in the brain of patients affected with tauopathies. We discuss the important properties that should be considered when forming amyloids and the benchmarks that should be used to ...

Free Yang-Mills vs. Toric Sasaki-Einstein [PDF]
It has been known that the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy of the black hole in AdS_5 * S^5 agrees with the free N=4 super Yang-Mills entropy up to the famous factor 4/3. This factor can be interpreted as the ratio of the entropy of the free Yang-Mills to the

Unraveling Mycobacterium tuberculosis acid resistance and pH homeostasis mechanisms
Mycobacterium tuberculosis exhibits a remarkable resilience to acid stress. In this Review, we discuss some of the molecular mechanisms and metabolic pathways used by the tubercle bacilli to adapt and resist host‐mediated acid stress. Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) is a successful pathogen that has developed a variety of strategies to survive and ...

Normal bladder wall thickness measurement in healthy Iranian children, a cross-sectional study
Background: Normal bladder function is necessary for micturition. Many causes such as urinary tract infection, bladder outlet obstruction, and neuropathic bladder can influence bladder wall thickness (BWT).This study was designed to determine normal BWT ...
