Distributed Average Consensus With Quantization Refinement
IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 2013We consider the problem of distributed average consensus in a sensor network where sensors exchange quantized information with their neighbors. We propose a novel quantization scheme that exploits the increasing correlation between the values exchanged by the sensors throughout the iterations of the consensus algorithm.

Limiting impurity distribution during zone refining
Technical Physics Letters, 2014The problem of the limiting distribution of the impurity removed using the zone-refining technique is considered for different distribution factors and molten zone sizes. An analytical solution is suggested and some examples are discussed in the approximation of a long finite-length ingot with a uniform cross section and constant molten-zone size.
