Dynamic Deformation Characteristics of AISI Type 316LN Stainless Steel with Varying Nitrogen Content
Dynamic tensile deformation behavior of SS 316LN with varying nitrogen content has been investigated at intermediate strain rates to supplement mechanical properties characterization for nuclear application. The present study reveals an increase in strength and a decrease in ductility with increase in strain rate and nitrogen content.

Microstructures and grain refinement performance of Al–Ti–B–C grain refiner via powder metallurgy [PDF]
The Al-5Ti-0.5B-0.5C grain refiner was prepared by powder metallurgy (PM). Microstructures of the grain refiner and its grain refinement performance in commercially pure aluminum (Al) were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC).

Insight into ultra-refined grains of aluminum matrix composites via deformation-driven metallurgy
Composites Communications, 2021Abstract Ultra-refined grains were obtained in few-layer graphene nanoplatelets reinforced aluminum matrix composites via deformation-driven metallurgy under coupled thermo-mechanical effect. Fragmentation, thinning and re-dispersion of the reinforcements accelerated the nucleation of recrystallized grains and inhibited the migration of grain ...
