Reflectarray antenna design

2017 International Conference on Electromagnetics in Advanced Applications (ICEAA), 2017
The process of reflectarray antenna design can be usually carried out into two separate steps: element design and aperture phase distribution design. In the step of element design, reflectarray elements need to be devised based on the requirements of phase range, element bandwidth, polarization and so on.

Optimization of a Gangbuster Reflectarray Antenna

2005 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium, 2005
In this paper we discuss the optimization of the design, carried out through a pseudo-random optimization algorithm, of a gangbuster reflectarray antenna. The variation of reflection coefficient phase on the reflectarray surface is achieved by varying the length of the local wires in the gangbuster surface. For the optimization, a genetic algorithm has

The reflectarray antenna

IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 1963
A class of antennas that utilizes arrays of elementary antennas as reflecting surfaces has been investigated. An antenna of this type is here called a Reflectarray. It has been found that the Reflectarray combines much of the simplicity of the reflector-type antenna with the performance versatility of the array type. The reflecting surfaces employed in

Circular polarized reflectarray antenna

20th Iranian Conference on Electrical Engineering (ICEE2012), 2012
In this paper, aperture coupled dielectric resonator antenna loaded with rotated strip, is used as a CP element for reflectarray antenna. Phase variations are obtained by a symmetric change in the length of the stub. The effect of the various parameters of the structure on the slope of the phase curve is studied. Simulations are carried out with Ansoft

Reflectarray Antenna at Terahertz Using Graphene

IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters, 2013
The use of graphene for fixed-beam reflectarray antennas at Terahertz (THz) is proposed. Graphene's unique electronic band structure leads to a complex surface conductivity at THz frequencies, which allows the propagation of very slow plasmonic modes. This leads to a drastic reduction of the electrical size of the array unit cell and thereby good array

Broadband Optimization of Reflectarray Antennas

2019 International Conference on Microwave and Millimeter Wave Technology (ICMMT), 2019
This paper presents the broadband design method for reflectarray (RA) antennas. The differential evolution (DE) algorithm has been applied to balance the spatial phase delay errors in the whole work band. A RA antenna consisted of split ring elements has been proposed to validate the method.

An Amplifying Reconfigurable Reflectarray Antenna

IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 2012
Electronically tunable reflectarrays and amplifying reflectarrays have attracted considerable research in recent years, however, little work has been done to combine these two features simultaneously in a single design. This paper focuses on the design of such a reflectarray, which can be used as a high gain, reconfigurable transmitting antenna for ...
