This paper presents a frequency‐reconfigurable dual‐band nematic liquid‐crystal (LC) reflectarray antenna with angular beam separation for satellite communication. Dual‐band operation at 12 and 28 GHz is achieved through voltage‐controlled reconfiguration of the LC layer.

Water-Based Microwave Reflectarrays
Control of transmission/reflection of waves continues to be a task of great importance. Especially, 2-D structures such as metasurfaces, with imprinted spatial phase variation coming from arrays of small metallic/dielectric scatterers, are of increasing ...

Bandwidth Behavior of Closely Spaced Aperture-Coupled Reflectarrays
The bandwidth features of reflectarray antennas are analyzed by examining in detail the phase errors due to the compensation mechanism for spatial phase delays.

An efficient and broad‐band reflective microstrip polariser converter is proposed that converts linear polarization plane waves to circular polarization ones. It is experimentally shown that the designed device converts the LP plane‐waves to a CP one within 7.2∼12.6 GHz with 3‐dB AR bandwidth = 54.5%.

This paper presents a broadband 1‐bit reconfigurable transmitarray operating at 11.7 GHz, using interdigital structures to achieve a 23.1% 3‐dB transmission‐loss bandwidth without requiring an air gap. An EM‐acquired CRCS‐based link gain model is developed to evaluate the radiation gain, scattering characteristics and gain‐frequency response of the RTA.

It is shown that the dominant factor controlling reflectarray bandwidth is the bandwidth of the radiating element, and that the effect of non-constant path delays over the surface of the flat reflector has little significance unless the aperture is electrically very large and the f/D ratio is small. An example of a polarisation-twist reflectarray using

This work presents a compact AMC‐backed logarithmic spiral antenna for CubeSat relay downlink communications, achieving wide impedance bandwidth from 5.1 to 16 GHz and stable circular polarization with a 48.64% axial‐ratio bandwidth. The integration of an artificial magnetic conductor enhances radiation efficiency and enables a measured peak gain of 9 ...
