Facile one-pot synthesis of water-soluble fcc FePt3 alloy nanostructures

open access: yesSN Applied Sciences, 2020
Proccessible FePt3 alloy nanoparticles with sizes smaller than 50 nm open the avenue to novel magnetic sensor, catalytic and biomedical applications. Our research objective was to establish a highly scalable synthesis technique for production of single ...

Photoswitchable Conductive Metal–Organic Frameworks

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A conductive material where the conductivity can be modulated remotely by irradiation with light is presented. It is based on films of conductive metal–organic framework type Cu3(HHTP)2 with embedded photochromic molecules such as azobenzene, diarylethene, spiropyran, and hexaarylbiimidazole in the pores.

Probing the size and density of silicon nanocrystals in nanocrystal memory device applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Structural characterization via transmission electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy of arrays of small Si nanocrystals embedded in SiO2, important to many device applications, is usually difficult and fails to correctly resolve nanocrystal size ...

Photosensitive AlGaAs / GaAs Structures Grown by Molecular Beam Epitaxy [PDF]

open access: yesЖурнал нано- та електронної фізики, 2014
AlGaAs / GaAs photosensitive structures were grown by molecular beam epitaxy and photodetector devices were fabricated. The structures were characterized by reflection high-energy electron diffraction (RHEED), reflectance anisotropy spectroscopy (RAS ...

Orientation of FePt nanoparticles on top of a-SiO2/Si(001), MgO(001) and sapphire(0001): effect of thermal treatments and influence of substrate and particle size

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Nanotechnology, 2016
Texture formation and epitaxy of thin metal films and oriented growth of nanoparticles (NPs) on single crystal supports are of general interest for improved physical and chemical properties especially of anisotropic materials.

Ideal Molecular Sieving with a Dense MOF for Helium Upgrading with Highly Diffusion Selective Mixed Matrix Membranes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The separation of Helium gas from natural gas is challenging but highly important. MIL‐116(Ga), a “non‐porous” metal–organic framework is used as a molecular sieve to separate He from CH4. Druse‐like MIL‐116(Ga) particles are integrated into polysulfone mixed matrix membranes.

Re-entrant Layer-by-Layer Etching of GaAs(001)

open access: yes, 1995
We report the first observation of re-entrant layer-by-layer etching based on {\it in situ\/} reflection high-energy electron-diffraction measurements. With AsBr$_3$ used to etch GaAs(001), sustained specular-beam intensity oscillations are seen at high ...

Study of interface asymmetry in InAs–GaSb heterojunctions [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
We present reflection high energy electron diffraction, secondary ion mass spectroscopy, scanning tunneling microscopy and x‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy studies of the abruptness of InAs–GaSb interfaces.

The c(4 × 4)–a(1 × 3) surface reconstruction transition on InSb(001): Static versus dynamic conditions

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2015
The transition between the a(1 × 3) and c(4 × 4) surface reconstructions of InSb(001) has been carefully monitored by reflection high energy electron diffraction as a function of temperature and Sb2 flux, without incident In flux.
