Controllable Andreev retroreflection and specular Andreev reflection in a four-terminal graphene-superconductor hybrid system [PDF]

open access: yesPhys. Rev. Lett. 103, 167003 (2009), 2009
We report the investigation of electron transport through a four-terminal graphene-superconductor hybrid system. Due to the quantum interference of the reflected holes from two graphene-superconductor interfaces with phase difference $\theta$, it is found that the specular Andreev reflection vanishes at $\theta=0$ while the Andreev retroreflection ...

Atomic Hydrogen Cleaning of InP(100) for Preparation of a Negative Electron Affinity Photocathode [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
Atomic hydrogen cleaning is used to clean InP(100) negative electron affinity photocathodes. Reflection high-energy electron diffraction patterns of reconstructed, phosphorus-stabilized, InP(100) surfaces are obtained after cleaning at ∼400 °C.

Microstructure, Mechanical Properties, and Antibacterial Performance of Novel Fe‐Mn‐Zn Nanocrystalline Alloys Produced by Mechanical Alloying

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents the development of Fe‐Mn‐Zn nanocrystalline alloys (0–9 wt% Zn) by mechanical alloying and subsequently hot pressing. Their microstructure, density, hardness, wear resistance, corrosion behavior, and antibacterial properties are systematically examined.

Metallic interface in non-SrTiO3 based titanate superlattice [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We report on the fabrication of all perovskite Mott insulator/band insulator YTiO3/CaTiO3 superlattices by pulsed laser deposition. The combination of in situ reflection high energy electron diffraction, X-ray diffraction, and X-ray reflectivity confirms the high quality of the films grown in a layer-by-layer mode.

Self-Organized Ni Nanocrystal Embedded in BaTiO3 Epitaxial Film

open access: yesNanoscale Research Letters, 2010
Ni nanocrystals (NCs) were embedded in BaTiO3 epitaxial films using the laser molecular beam epitaxy. The processes involving the self-organization of Ni NCs and the epitaxial growth of BaTiO3 were discussed.

Epitaxy, exfoliation, and strain-induced magnetism in rippled Heusler membranes

open access: yesNature Communications, 2021
Single-crystalline membranes of functional materials enable the tuning of properties via extreme strain states; however, conventional routes for producing membranes require the use of sacrificial layers and chemical etchants, which can both damage the ...
