Scattering and absorption of ultracold atoms by nanotubes
We investigate theoretically how cold atoms, including Bose-Einstein condensates, are scattered from, or absorbed by nanotubes with a view to analysing recent experiments.

The separation of Helium gas from natural gas is challenging but highly important. MIL‐116(Ga), a “non‐porous” metal–organic framework is used as a molecular sieve to separate He from CH4. Druse‐like MIL‐116(Ga) particles are integrated into polysulfone mixed matrix membranes.

Reflection Losses from Laser-Produced Plasmas
Optical calorimetry of laser radiation reflected from plane targets irradiated by a 0.3 J/30 ps Nd-laser pulse (λ = 1.06 μm) has been performed. A 2π-ellipsoidal mirror was used for scattered light collection. We find that scattering outside the solid angle of the focusing lens is a major reflection loss from the target.

Thin chalcogenide capillaries as efficient waveguides in the mid-IR - THz spectral range
We present chalcogenide glass As2Se3 capillaries as efficient waveguides in the mid-IR and THz spectral ranges. The capillaries are fabricated using a double crucible glass drawing technique. The wall thickness of the glass capillary is properly designed

Single Image Reflection Removal Based on GAN With Gradient Constraint
When we take a picture through glass windows, the photographs are often degraded by undesired reflections. To separate reflection layer and background layer is an important problem for enhancing image quality.

This study presents novel anti‐counterfeiting tags with multilevel security features that utilize additional disguise features. They combine luminescent nanosized Ln‐MOFs with conductive polymers to multifunctional mixed‐matrix membranes and powder composites. The materials exhibit visible/NIR emission and matrix‐based conductivity even as black bodies.
