Mechanisms of parasite‐mediated disruption of brain vessels
Parasites can affect the blood vessels of the brain, often causing serious neurological problems. This review explains how different parasites interact with and disrupt these vessels, what this means for brain health, and why these processes matter. Understanding these mechanisms may help us develop better ways to prevent or treat brain infections in ...

This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.

Optical characterization of ultra-high diffraction efficiency gratings
We report on the optical characterization of an ultra-high diffraction efficiency grating in 1st order Littrow configuration. The apparatus used was an optical cavity built from the grating under investigation and an additional high reflection mirror ...

Influence of reflected radiation waves caused by large mode field and large refractive index mismatches on splice loss evaluation between elliptical-hole lattice core holey fibers and conventional fibers [PDF]
When the mode field and refractive index mismatches between two spliced fibers are small, the splice loss is generally evaluated by calculating an overlap integral without reflection waves.

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

Non-reciprocal Optical Mirrors Based on Spatio-Temporal Modulation
The recent surge of interest in temporal modulation schemes to induce magnet-free non-reciprocity has inspired several exciting opportunities for photonic technology. Here, we investigate a scheme to realize free-space isolators and highly non-reciprocal

In situ reflection electron energy loss spectroscopy measurements of low temperature surface cleaning for Si molecular beam epitaxy [PDF]
In situ analysis of hydrocarbon desorption from hydrogen terminated Si(100) surfaces was performed in a silicon molecular beam epitaxy system, using reflection electron energy loss spectroscopy, in conjunction with conventional reflection high energy ...
