On the electron-energy loss spectra and plasmon resonance in cuprates
The consequences of the non-Drude charge response in the normal state of cuprates and the effect of the layered structure on electron-energy loss spectra are investigated, both for experiments in the transmission and the reflection mode. It is shown that

ABSTRACT Objective Super‐Refractory Status Epilepticus (SRSE) is a rare, life‐threatening neurological emergency with unclear etiology in many cases. Mitochondrial dysfunction, often due to disease‐causing genetic variants, is increasingly recognized as a cause, with each gene producing distinct pathophysiological mechanisms.

ABSTRACT Objective The Gold Coast criteria permit diagnosis of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) even without upper motor neuron (UMN) signs. However, whether ALS patients with UMN signs (ALSwUMN) and those without (ALSwoUMN) share similar characteristics and prognoses remains unclear.

$\mathcal{PT}$-breaking threshold in spatially asymmetric Aubry-Andre Harper models: hidden symmetry and topological states [PDF]
Aubry-Andre Harper (AAH) lattice models, characterized by reflection-asymmetric, sinusoidally varying nearest-neighbor tunneling profile, are well-known for their topological properties.

The Case of a 37‐Year‐Old Woman Presenting With Subacute Weakness and Paresthesias
ABSTRACT Acute intermittent porphyria (AIP) is a rare metabolic disorder that may present with subacute neuropathy and systemic symptoms, often leading to diagnostic delay. We report a 37‐year‐old woman with eight weeks of progressive bilateral upper extremity weakness and paresthesias, followed by lower extremity involvement and falls, in the setting ...

Low-loss semi-reflective in-fiber mirrors
This paper presents a method for the efficient production of all-fiber semi reflective mirrors suitable for fiber sensors and other all-fiber device applications. The mirrors are obtained by the short duration etching of a standard single mode fiber in hydrofluoric acid, followed by an on-line feedback-assisted fusion splicing process.

Variably Protease‐Sensitive Prionopathy: Two New Cases With Motor Neuron‐Dementia Syndrome
ABSTRACT We describe two patients with variably protease‐sensitive prionopathy (VPSPr) who developed progressive upper motor neuron symptoms, insomnia, behavioral and cognitive decline, compatible with primary lateral sclerosis associated with frontotemporal dementia (FTD).

A millimeter-wave antireflection coating for cryogenic silicon lenses [PDF]
We have developed and tested an antireflection (AR) coating method for silicon lenses at cryogenic temperatures and millimeter wavelengths. Our particular application is a measurement of the cosmic microwave background.

ABSTRACT Introduction Spinal cord infarction (SCI) is a rare but devastating myelopathy, characterized by a high disability rate and an unfavorable prognosis. It has often been underdiagnosed and misdiagnosed as idiopathic transverse myelitis (ITM). This study aimed to describe the clinical features, radiological biomarkers, treatments, and functional ...
