Bijections between noncrossing and nonnesting partitions for classical reflection groups [PDF]

open access: yesDiscrete Mathematics & Theoretical Computer Science, 2009
We present $\textit{type preserving}$ bijections between noncrossing and nonnesting partitions for all classical reflection groups, answering a question of Athanasiadis and Reiner. The bijections for the abstract Coxeter types $B$, $C$ and $D$ are new in

Typing in reflective combinatory logic

open access: yesAnnals of Pure and Applied Logic, 2006
This paper is about Artemov's reflective combinatory logic \(RCL_\to\). In \(RCL_\to\) combinators \(k\) and \(s\) are assigned their usual Curry-Howard types, but as the system has no combinatory reduction or conversion, the combinators here are no more than labels applied to the theorems of intuitionistic implicational logic.

Fodor-type Reflection Principle and reflection of metrizability and meta-Lindelöfness

open access: yesTopology and its Applications, 2010
The authors introduce a new reflection principle, called Fodor-type reflection principle (FRP): Let \(\kappa\) be a cardinal of cofinality \(\geq \omega_1\). For any stationary \(S\subseteq E^\kappa_\omega\) and mapping \(g: S\to |\kappa|^{\leq\aleph_0}\), there is \(I\in|\kappa|^{\aleph_1}\) such that cf\((I)= \omega_1\); \(g(\alpha)\subseteq I\) for ...

Language, Culture, and Cancer: Qualitative Insights Into Communication Disparities Among Spanish‐Speaking Caregivers of Children With Cancer

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Latino children are projected to make up nearly one‐third of United States (US) children by 2060, and many of their caregivers speak Spanish. Prior survey research has documented communication difficulties for Spanish‐speaking caregivers of children with cancer, but contemporary qualitative data are limited.

The general treatment of giant Goos-Hänchen shift in a slab cavity

open access: yesJournal of Taibah University for Science, 2020
In this study, the general treatment to obtain negative/positive giant Goos-Hänchen shifts for a slab cavity is provided. We find that there are two main types of giant shifts: The first type (type I) is associated with near-zero reflection coefficient ...

Parents of Youth With Cancer Report on Their Psychosocial Care: iSTEPPP Survey Finds Alignment and Gaps With Standards

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background The Standards for Psychosocial Care for Children with Cancer and Their Families guide the provision of comprehensive psychosocial care. Parallel to research characterizing implementation of the Standards from the perspective of providers, this study examines implementation of the Standards from the perspective of parents of youth ...

“We Cannot Talk as a Family”: Complexities of Survivorship Communication Among Hispanic/Latino Young Adult Survivors of Childhood Cancer, Parents, and Clinicians

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Young adult childhood cancer survivors (YA‐CCS) have an increased risk of treatment‐related health complications throughout their lives. Lifelong survivorship care is recommended, yet many YA‐CCS experience disruptions in care during pediatric‐to‐adult transitions and do not receive recommended survivorship care.

Double Andreev reflections and double electron transmissions in a normal-superconductor-normal junction based on type-II Weyl semimetal

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2018
We study the quantum transport behavior of a normal-superconductor-normal junction based on a type-II Weyl semimetal, which is arranged in the tilting direction of the Weyl semimetal. We find that both the crossed Andreev reflection and normal reflection
