Microwave Resonance-Based Reflective Mode Displacement Sensor With Wide Dynamic Range

IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 2022
A wide dynamic range reflective mode displacement sensor is designed in this article based on the resonance frequency shift. The linearity of the sensor is enhanced using a tapered metallic patch that forms the capacitance of the sensor, leading to a better dynamic range.

Development of a High Sensitive Refractive Index Sensor Based on Evanescent Wave Absorbance effect in Reflective Mode for Ocean Observation

Wireless Personal Communications, 2021
This paper demonstrates the Refractive Index (RI) sensing characteristics of the proposed evanescent wave absorbance (EWA) sensor in reflective mode. The end reflective-EWA (ER-EWA) sensor is fabricated using Tollens’ reagent for depositing silver (Ag) layer throughout the length of sensing region and to fabricate in-line reflective mirror at the end ...

A Method to Retrieve the Output Variables in Reflective-Mode Phase-Variation Sensors

2022 52nd European Microwave Conference (EuMC), 2022
In this paper, a method to retrieve the relevant information, i.e., the phase and magnitude of the reflection coefficient, in reflective-mode phase-variation sensors is reported. By using a pair of rat-race hybrid couplers conveniently connected, and with the ports appropriately loaded, including the one-port sensing load, the reflection coefficient of

Open-Ended-Line Reflective-Mode Phase-Variation Sensors for Dielectric Constant Measurements

2020 IEEE SENSORS, 2020
This paper reports a detailed analysis of reflective-mode phase-variation sensors based on open-ended microstrip lines. These sensors are useful for measuring dielectric constants or other variables related to it (e.g., material or liquid composition).

Reflecting mode integrated optical temperature sensor

Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 1993
AbstractThis Letter presents a novel type of integrated optical temperature sensor which is based on a single waveguide with a reflecting mirror at the rear end. The experimental results achieve a half‐wave temperature of 0.14 C and an extinction ratio of 76%.

Model-Based Analysis of Reflection-Mode Fiber Hydrogen Sensor

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013
Researchers have successfully prepared reflection-mode hydrogen sensor by coating Palladium (Pd) alloy in the end of the fiber and it has been proved to be in good effect. Characteristics of the hydrogen sensors are influenced by several factors, such as thickness of thin film, substrate, light wavelength and the film material, etc.
