Active coupled-resonator optical waveguides. I. Gain enhancement and noise [PDF]
We use a tight-binding formalism in the time domain to analyze the effect of resonant gain enhancement and spontaneous emission noise in amplifying coupled-resonator optical waveguides (CROWs).

Optical bistable devices as sensing elements [PDF]
The nonlinear optical properties of many materials and devices have been the main object of research as potential candidates for sensing in different places. Just one of these properties has been, in most of the cases, the basis for the sensing operation.

Metachromatic Butterfly Bile Pigments for Multi‐Level Optical Security Films
Bio‐derived optical security materials are manufactured by embedding butterfly‐based pigments in polymer films. Tunable color and fluorescence responses arise from concentration‐controlled metachromasy, enabling spatially encoded patterns with distinct visible, UV‐active, and spectral signatures.

Charge transport in 2D tin perovskite FETs is shown to be governed by dielectric interface behavior. Polar polymer dielectrics induce dipolar disorder that localizes carriers, whereas nonpolar polymers suppress trapping and enable superior charge transport, ensuring stable and reliable transistor operation. ABSTRACT Understanding the role of interfaces

Efficient two‐photon resonant Raman scattering (TRRS) is observed in the layered perovskite (PEA)2PbI4, with the biexciton level acting as an intermediate state. TRRS undergoes two‐photon frequency shift upon input frequency tuning, persists up to 90 K, and shows clear threshold behavior and polarization selection rules.
