All-optical soliton based universal logic NOR utilizing a single reflective semiconductor optical amplifier (RSOA)

open access: closedPhotonic Network Communications, 2021
Reflective semiconductor optical amplifier (RSOA) is an efficient gain medium and finds application in passive optical network. Due to its double-pass characteristics compared to ordinary semiconductor optical amplifier, gives better switching performance.

Numerical modeling and experimental testing of reflective semiconductor optical amplifier (RSOA) with modulation bandwidth optimization

open access: closedAsia Communications and Photonics Conference and Exhibition, 2010
A numerical model for RSOA including spatial variations of carrier density and ASE noise, is established and validated via experimental tests. Performance of RSOA with different cross-sectional areas of active region is investigated in the simulations. Reducing the cross-sectional area can increase its modulation bandwidth.

Simulative Performance Analysis of All Optical Universal Logic TAND Gate Using Reflective Semiconductor Optical Amplifier (RSOA)

open access: closed, 2020
Reflective Semiconductor Optical Amplifier (RSOA) is a suitable gain medium due to its double pass characteristics compared to ordinary semiconductor Optical Amplifier. RSOA-based gain dynamics is utilized to design and analyze the new RSOA-based all optical logic TAND gate using Soliton pulses for the first time. The proposed logic TAND is a universal

Performance of All-Optical Logic Soliton-Based AND Gate Using Reflective Semiconductor Optical Amplifier (RSOA)

open access: closed, 2019
In this chapter, we have analyzed and described all-optical soliton-based logic AND gate using refractive semiconductor optical amplifier (RSOA). We have used control signal and data signal as a soliton pulse. Input and output operations are also shown.
